I'm sure Jorgi relieved some of his tension or at least one of them.

How cruel, a bit of human understanding wouldn't go amiss here

I've seen nothing weak and effeminate about the lad. It would seem that all 'men' need to fit your narrow minded idea of what a man should be. Thank goodness we've moved on from the caveman mentality of past years, men can now show their more sensitive side.

Panic attacks are the fashionable thing to have these days. He's a big weepy sook, and yes, I think national service is needed these days. He's on a TV set in a national forest surrounded by a round-the-clock TV crew. He needs to grow a pair.

Tell me, what's it like to be so callous, cruel and unfeeling? I can never imagine it.

Yep, let's all go back to the days where people were promoted and paid to be bullies. Where anyone that showed an ounce of sensitivity was derided and shamed until they kept quiet for years. or worse did themselves in. Of course the last selfish cowardly act, killing yourself, so his own fault no one to blame.

Let's all go back to the happy days......

George was being constantly ordered what to say and what do to make the others do by Lady C. He then had the unenviable choice of arguing with a 66 year old harridan that should know better than to put someone else under such pressure, or carry out her orders in the best way he could.

An other good reason for her leaving.

Why does he have to toughen up? He shouldn't have to hold his emotions in to please viewers.

Everyone has different levels of what they are comfortable with.

Just because he isn't what viewers think is a typical man doesn't make him less of one.

In fact I'd rather have a man like George who is sensitive and caring than posters telling him to toughen up and mocking him who have no empathy towards others.

It feels far better than being an over-emoting, crybaby who needs hugged all the time. He went into the jungle a young man and has turned into a boy.

Just why is society producing so many of these blubbering young males nowadays and why do people rejoice in it?

Oh you come over as a real sensitive person. I'll go for a genuine sensitive person every time rather than an overbearing macho thug h

Oh wow, I'm nearly speechless.

George isn't my favourite camp mate simply because he's not entertaining but that aside, he seems a lovely, kind young man & so what if he's a bit sensitive, is that something to be ashamed of?
Would you prefer him not to care when people are upset & instead of comforting them (which he has done) tell them to man up.
I think the OP is bang on & the poor guy was having a slight panic attack, people can have panic attacks anywhere, from the safety of their own home to the middle of a battlefield, either way, absolutely nothing to be ashamed of.
If George was my child, I'd be extremely proud to have such a decent, respectful & caring son.

Give me well mannered, decent, respectful over so called manly any day. He doesn't need to "man up" or any of those stupid expressions. We are all different and no one needs to be belittled because they show sensitivity. The ones who need to man up and go in the army are the so called macho thugs that there seem to be too many of these days.

I hope that you suffer them one day then! Panic attacks are crippling and i've suffered for years with them.

It's callous attitudes like yours that lead to men suppressing their emotions and not getting the help they sometimes need for anxiety and depression.

Personally I think it's better he's sensitive, kind and thoughtful rather than the type of chavvy yob who goes around mugging and terrorising others. But I suppose you would prefer the yob.

Or it would lead to Post traumatic stress disorder.

Many soldiers end up suffering from Post traumatic stress disorder. If you witnessed them suffering from it I suppose you would ignorantly tell them to 'man up'

So I guess a three year stint in the army doesn't sort everyone out.

'Panic attacks' are a modern day thing that people have only 'suffered' from since they were given that name. Shakespeare called it 'Much Ado about Nothing'. It's just more fashionable to do this in public now than before, people are less discreet these days.

With reasoning like this it's no wonder we have a generation of wusses these days. Thank heavens we do have enough with the spine to want to sign up to defend their country.

Exactly!

It's because of people like 'Madbetty' why there is such a stigma around mental illness. Madbetty, you're just ignorant!!

So you don't believe in Post traumatic stress disorder? Surely you must have heard of it?

Plenty do defend their country yes. And quite often they come back in body bags or with missing limbs. Is that what you would want for your own offspring?

The ones that make it back safely often suffer from post traumatic stress disorder. In your day it was called Shell shock. And yes the ones 'with spine' as you put it, often end up with this condition after their tour of duty. Even Coronation street tried to educate people like you with the story of Gary Windass, and Eastenders with Lee Carter.

But still there are dinosaurs that are unable to comprehend the affects of such atrocities.

This statement is totally offensive and shows a complete lack of understanding for any form of mental illness. You should be ashamed of yourself

Madbetty certainly lives up to her username

She'd rather people quietly killed themselves than get the help they need.
