Seeing as it's the same doctor I don't see why they can't have it on there. It's only 7 minutes long after all. With all the extras in sd and its 7 minutes it's not like it's not going to have room for it
Tv movie, shada (that you can watch on your tv), night of the doctor. And whatever other media from audios and short novelizations. Really try to compensate for the lack of eight doctor tv stories.... |

Why are the Blu Ray releases so cheap to buy on E--y ? I just bought the Time of the Doctor + the other 11th Doctor Christmas specials for less than £3 You can get whole series for about a fiver if you look.

Personally I don't rate the Tv movie at all and already have night of the doctor on the day of the doctor disc. |

I originally thought their might be some rights issue's or something being that they were two different productions, but since it now turns out the bluray is indeed having night of the doctor included, then obviously people who wanted it got their wish.
Personally I don't rate the Tv movie at all and already have night of the doctor on the day of the doctor disc. This is for me

Even at 15 quid it Just seems a bit overpriced for what amounts to just a rescale and extras that I already have. I'd probably pay about a tenner brand new 7 quid second hand. people may have been critical of the special editions and such releases like the extras free enemy/web spearhead blu Ray and animation less underwater menace but at least they gave us new episodes (in web and enemys case) and extras that hadn't been on disc before. This has neither of those things

Tonight, I watched "The Woman Who Lived".
Characters besides The Doctor and Clara: Men: Driver: Lives Passenger: Lives Mr. Fanshawe: Lives Sam Swift: Lives Clayton: Lives Leandro: Dies 2 Guards: Live Mr. Baxter: Lives Women: Passenger: Lives Ashildr: Lives FOREVER Mrs. Baxter: Lives Generic Lady: Lives Total: Men: 9 Men Who Die: 1 Women: 4 Women Who Die: 0 Running Total: Men: 40 Men Who Die: 19 Women: 18 Women Who Die: 1 The men are still running at 47.5% death rate while the women are running at a 6% death rate. Hmmm...... Tonight, I re-watched The Zygon Invasion/The Zygon Inversion. Here is an example of where every single important character, except The Doctor, is female. Every single one. Watch the episodes and judge for yourself, but they all are. If it was not for The Doctor himself, there would not be a male presence in the episodes at all. Male: Little Boy: Dies Daddy: Lives Solders outside house (9): Dies Soldier: (10 men): Dies Street Man: Dies Guards (2): Dies Women: Osgood: Dies Other Osgood: Lives Zygon Girl: Jemina: Dies Zygon Girl: Charlotte: Dies Kate Lethbridge-Stewart: Lives Unit Assistant: JAC: Dies Mommy: Lives Unit Officer: Lives Unit Operative: Lives Evil Clara: Bonnie: Lives Soldier: Lives Soldier (Walst, Colonel): Lives Sheriff: Lives Soldiers (2): Dies That makes the running total: Men: 63 Men who die: 42 Women: 33 Women who die: 7 Let me know if any of my figures are wrong. |

The Tardis Library has Series Two (Blu-Ray) now set for, possibly, December. It is still unconfirmed. If it happens that way, though, Series 3 would be released on Blu-Ray before Series 2. How funny would that be? They still have the same dates for Series 3 and 4. That makes the list:
The TV Movie (Blu-ray): UK, September 19th, US: ? Series Eight, Part One (DVD): US: September 20th Weeping Angels (DVD): US: October 4th The Complete Second Series (Blu-ray): US: ? The Complete Third Series (Blu-ray): US: November 15th Series Eight, Part Two (DVD): US: December 13th The Complete Fourth Series (Blu-Ray): US: March 14th, 2017. |

I received my copy of K-9: The Complete Series today. It should be interesting to watch since I have not seen a single episode of it before.

I just re-watched the abortion that is Sleep No More. It reeks like 3 week old fish.
Anyways, the characters are: Male: Rasmussen: Already Dead, so we won't count him. Chopra: Dies Deep-Ando: Dies Female: Nagata: Lives ? : 474 Grunt: Dies. I am not sure if 474 Grunt is male or female. He/She/It is referred to by both the male and female pronouns during the episode. 474 has the body of a female (I think, if a fairly stout one), but the voice of a male. While 474 likes the male of Chopra, that means little in modern Doctor Who in terms of 474's gender. Thus, I will leave 474 out of the equation. Anyways, 474 dies. That makes the total: Men: 65 Men who die: 44 Women: 34 Women who die: 7 I don't mean to torture you with the slow roll-out of this re-watch, but I can only handle re-watching the episodes at a slow pace since they are so bad. I literally have friends who bought Series 9 on Blu-Ray but who stopped watching halfway through because it was so bad. They, and I, are not looking forward to Series 10. |

Maybe you should write a paper on this and send it to the BBC.
![]() It's been so long I've forgotten why you started this but... I expect it's an example of unconscious bias towards traditional gender based roles and not a deliberate choice. If females generally fulfil the same roles as males, then logically you'd expect the death rates for males and females would be broadly similar. If females fulfil traditional roles, meaning they tend not to get involved in heavy action, as in the recent debate in the UK about women in front line military roles, you'd expect their death rate should be significantly lower than the men's. There's an inconsistency there if the show is trying to be PC with male/female role equivalence. |

None of this proves it's a deliberate decision by the writers/producer and I doubt that it's significantly different than any other era of Doctor Who either. It also doesn't spoil my viewing in the least as a) I never noticed and b) I generally care less about the men dying than the women anyway. However, it is an interesting study

Yes, I made that point earlier.

However, it is an interesting study ![]() Also, they have replaced every single male of importance in the show (except The Doctor) with a female. Yet, the women almost never die. Clara doesn't die; she lives forever. The Master is now The Mistress. The Brigadier character is now his daughter. Even the lone Gallifrean male General must be killed and regenerate, wait for it, into a female. It has become a self-parody. Anyways, I am waiting eagerly for Series 11. Series 10 barely interests me at all since the show-killing Moffat will still be at the helm. P.S. You care less about the men dying than the women anyways? See, that is part of the problem, men are considered by modern media as expendable, as if we were worth almost nothing. On the other hand, despite the fact that we are supposed to be equal, women are considered smarter, better and we are supposed to care about them more. As a male, this bothers me greatly. |
