You might have seen this by now but Sky put the dates up in their programme tonight:

Mon Aug 8 - Notts v Essex
Tues Aug 9 - Northants v Middlesex
Wed Aug 10 - Gloucs v Durham
Thur Aug 11 - Glamorgan v Yorkshire

Contrast the coverage of Sri Lanka v Australia on Eurosport. Refreshing to hear commentators talking about the match rather than themselves and each other.

Very funny having two current somerset players commentating on todays game. Tres getting carried away each time they got a wicket! Mark Butcher telling him he's meant to be fair and balanced when another wicket went down a second later!

Yes and there was a spell when Trescothick and Rogers were both commentating at the same time, Was Rogers called up at the last minute as he was there, and Nick was suffering all day≥

Thought it was very dull commentary line up today - Charles, Nick Knight, Butcher, Trescothick and Rogers. Trescothick gets too carried away and sounds too much like Dominic Cork. Butcher is very boring for me, talks....very.....very....slowly...too.

Knight is the worst of that sorry bunch, which really says something because I can't stand Colvile either.

Russel Arnold, Roshan Abeysinghe, Allan Border, Brendon Julian and Brian Murgatroyd were the comms for Sri Lanka vs Australia.

I like Charlie Colvile, simply because he is the only one wno isn't part of the old pros network. He's also good at winding Dominic Cork up.
Knight continues to be a patronising berk.

I wish they still used Jeremy Coney, I thought he was ace.

I had to turn it off as it was to biased, plus I didn't want to witness yet another Sussex collapse.

feel weird for sky to show a discussion on FTA cricket coverage lol.
Surprising enough Paul Allot agrees to having one game a week on FTA.

Thought the same. Expect the producer was getting a bit nervous......

So Is Dominic Cork presenting with Comms of Steve Harrison, Paul Allot and Tymal Mills alongside Cork.

Sky seems not to have much depth, when they have like 7 days of County Cricket in a row.

I'm guessing with them showing Yorkshire tomorrow, this team might be used again

Perhaps they might put some on the Sky Sports Mix channel, not FTA (I think?) but surely it will have a much bigger potential audience.

Sky showing the London derby tomorrow, where the winner might not qualify and the loser definitely won't.

A rare day with Yorkshire not on telly, so savour it. A sky subscription is better value than a Yorkshire membership these days.

I think it's highly likely that the first England v Pakistan ODI on Wed 24 August is going to be on Sky Sports Mix.

Sky Sports Mix is launching on that day - there will be little other high profile sport that day and they are surely going to want to show something significant on the first day.

Sky Sports Mix is a basic pay channel on the Sky platform - it's available to all Sky subscribers (even those who only take basic channels) - which is about 11 million homes.

Three days out of four, and that's before you start going back particularly far.

Just giving the people what they want to see. Biggest county, biggest and most successful team in history of the game. There have also being times when other counties are shown twice in a row etc, doesnt bother me.

Mainly because if you do you will quickly find that they have not been on that often over the course of the season. Apart from the Roses fixtures and one early One Day Cup (which if I recall was rained off) they have not been on much more than that.

But as the last week has seen the final round of matches in both the T20 Blast and One Day Cup, Sky will obviously have wanted to show the most meaningful qualification matches. And Yorkshire's position in both competitions meant the club was involved in some of the most relevant fixtures, so it was difficult to justifiably avoid showing them.

I would also assume the back-to-back matches against Durham and Warwickshire were partly also logistical for Sky. Notwithstanding that the Durham one was a must-win match for the home side to progress to the quarter finals, and yesterday's was similarly so for the visitors, whilst Yorkshire ideally needed to win one of those matches to guarantee their place. Although as it was their net run rate saw them survive at Durham's expense.

It will be quite annoying for Yorkshire if Rashid does not play at Edgbaston now after he was withdrawn from the ODC matches by the England management to be ready for the third test.

He has been omitted by the look of things. TMS tweeting that Finn is in for Stokes and Ball and Rashid miss out

Going off topic but will Sky Sports Mix be included in the Now TV Entertainment pack
? as that could give me some Sky cricket again.
