More than you'd think, if the BBC's problems getting TMS on air for Bangladesh is an indication!

TMS can't exactly do this after making a huge fuss of other people doing it to them in the english summer.

Shows how quick rights prices can escalate.
in 2006 2 india vs England series and everything else for 4 years was worth around 10M and that took a lot of effort to sign. 10 yrs on the story is different. |

How much is that contract worth now?
But it is certainly more than 10M. |

As per Sky Sports Cricket Twitter Account,
"Delighted to be working with host Gazi TV who's comms are Athar Ali Khan, Dominic Cork & John Kent. We've sent Nasser, Knight & Rob Key". Almost as if they've gone out of their way to shift the blame on Cork being there! |

Just listening to some of the Talk Sport 2 coverage and they're describing it as being "live & exclusive" so presumably they have paid something for the rights.
Really talksport don't have to pay for the rights since they not in bangladesh covering the game and are watching the game on the telly. TBH Radio rights get complicated when it is done off tube. They not even exclusive since Guerilla Cricket are doing it as well. https://twitter.com/guerillacricket might be wrong but think you only have to pay rights if you covering the game from the stadium. personally think Talksport are only doing the game because TMS pulled out and so got an opportunity to have an exclusive platform in the radios, the other one is mostly based on the internet. Really cheap to produce and likely to have good ratings because of the exclusivity aspect of it. |

Not sure that means anything.

The talkSPORT 2 managing editor says "We are so grateful to Bangladesh Cricket for making sure the series will be on UK radio". The rights holder says "We are delighted to enter into an agreement with talkSPORT". That doesn't sound like no fee has exchanged hands! http://talksport.com/press/talksport...s-161006212602 |

In their press release, talkSPORT say "talkSPORT 2 ... has reached an agreement with the Bangladesh Cricket Board".

Thanks for that wonder what stopped TMS from getting a deal, anyway it is good that the bangladesh board step in at the last minute would have been ridiculous of UK not having any official radio rights.
Calling it "ridiculous" that there would be no UK radio commentary is a harsh - do we really demand that absolutely everything be made available to us these days? |

Today's match is on Sky Sports Mix for those without a sports subscription.

Talksports coverage is the most off-tube thing I've ever heard. You can hear the Sky coverage that they're watching it off in the background and there's no crowd mix at all.

I think I'm always a bit naive when it comes to broadcasting but I'd have guessed a 3 week tour of of one of the weaker test nations would only cost £5-7 million.
The whole English summer costs around £70ish million at present. But the rights to a home event will usually require you to produce the coverage as well as giving you the right to broadcast it. So there is a huge extra cost as the rights alone do not give you anything you can show. Home rights are better thought of as though two separate things. A production contract where you are paid to produce the coverage, and a rights contract where you pay to broadcast it in you own territory (whilst the organizer sells that coverage elsewhere). The overall value being the offset of the two. So they cannot be directly compared. |

Poor from Ian Ward today having a go at Jos Buttler when he was dismissed.
If I was Buttler I'd have wrapped my bat around his head. What did he expect Buttler to do when they turn round and celebrate 10 yards in front of him! Get Charles presenting, he wouldn't be so anti English. |

Haven't see the incident but I've seen a lot of chat about it.
Can only imagine what Beefy would say? What happened was that after Buttler was given out on review, some of the Bangladesh players turned round and celebrated in front of Buttler and Woakes and something was also said to him. At the end Buttler said he was disappointed that they celebrated like that. But, I suppose it is a third world country and they are still are a bit backward in that part of the world. |

I'm embarrassed on your behalf.Buttler was captain and should have kept his mouth shut even though he undoubtedly had reason to be aggrieved. |
