It's most bizarre, ITV doing their own commentary. I guess it must be that they don't have the rights for the commentary for the feed and it worked out cheaper to do their own comms. They were perfectly happy to do a nondescript voiceover around the world feed for the 2015 World Cup.

Re the post above, it was the 2001 India tour that was the final overseas tour (non-Ashes) to get FTA highlights coverage - until this Bangladesh tour. Excellent to see that Simon Hughes is still doing the off-tube highlights job 15 years on!!

I wonder if Shane Warne will turn up in India. Star Sports do like to use him but there is only a small window between Australia's South Africa & Pakistan series
hope so warne improved this year allot

Doubt he will commentate in india, think channel 9 get priority in the winter, plus his contract with Star only really covers 20 days and most of them are spent in ICC events.

Bumble has said on twitter that Atherton, Hussain and Botham are going to India.
Nice at least Atherton and Hussain are going.
Suspect one of Ward or key to go but as a roving reporter with Gower the presenter in london.

Yeah suspect Ward will go, wander what Key will do considering he quite well respected in the sky circle and getting promoted quite quickly.
Already commentated on a Test, done the roving reporter duties in the 20/20 world cup suspect he will have a role in the India series as well but not sure what.

So looks like Sky have no issues with using BCCI.TV Commentary like I expected.
Not really sure it bother them considering they have no choice but to use them if they want a cheap commentary option that still include 3 Sky voices.

Be interesting to see if the BCCI tv propaganda is reduced or increase during the series.

isn't that a pakistani news channel lol.
some of the major Asian channel don't look that interested in sport anymore, they stopped showing Sri lanka games and now Pakistan games are free to air on Zing.

Sky even starting to show Kabbadi which I thought would have been live on Star ok in the past.

Does anyone know the times BT Sport will be showing FTA highlights of upcoming Aus v SA series that is part of the new rights deal to show FTA highlights?

I was assuming they would be on BT Showcase but as yet nothing is listed.

Thanks

I don't think internationals are part of the FTA agreement, think its just Big Bash.

The BT announcement said...

BT Sport has also acquired a free-to-air rights package that includes daily highlights of international matches and the Big Bash League, as well as one Big Bash League ‘match of the round’ broadcast live and free each week.

The original release stated a FTA rights package that included daily highlights of international matches aswell as Big Bash

(Edited for wrong link) https://www.btplc.com/BTToday/NewsList/Howzat/index.htm

Although looking on the website and today's piece it looks like those free highlights may only be available online

BT recently put this out

"
Coverage kicks off on Thursday 3 November with Australia facing a stellar South Africa side in the first of three Test matches. The Aussies then host Pakistan in another three-match Test series which includes the famous Boxing Day test at the MCG.

The Big Bash League begins on Tuesday 20 December and you can watch highlights of every match on BT’S freeview channel, BT Sport Showcase.

Simon Green, head of BT Sport, said: “We’re excited to be adding international cricket including next winter’s much anticipated exciting Ashes series, and the hugely successful Australian Big Bash, to the line-up of exclusively live sport available to BT Sport viewers.

"I hope viewers will enjoy our cricket coverage and we’re thrilled that Greg James is joining BT Sport along with some of the greatest players of recent times.”
