I doubt when ITV took highlights of the Bangladesh series, that they expected to be covering such a close series and a historical win for Bangladesh!

With test cricket on Zing tv and BT Sport this week can this thread get a name change as we often talk about wider broadcasters than sky and seemingly ever increasing with eurosport showing sri lanka v aus etc!

Yeah, from nowhere the landscape has changed. The 2017 thread is open to a new name....

Vaughan & James tweeted that they're having early nights tonight. So guess they are in the studio tonight for BT
KP in the channel 9 comms box.
Wonder what Ponting and Swanns roles are

Of course... they've hired Greg James to present it. We knew this weeks ago!

I still suspected they may do the test series on the cheap. Anyhow here's the studio

I wonder if BT have got any new subscribers because they have got the Australian cricket?
Or will people just watch online?

I think BT have had a very good first night, Greg has done well, Ricky said he is here till Big Bash, as he is a commentator for it..

Wonder how Sky will play things next summer.

As they wont be able to overly hype up the Ashes in the winter, as it will be like them advertising BT Sports Coverage.

Surely BT cant have a DJ presenting the Ashes coverage next winter

Why, Greg knows his cricket stuff

One thing l feel would benefit when watching live test cricket on television is to have overs remaining on the screen in the final session of the day. It could be shown in brackets next to the overs bowled.

I'm saying this because there's no mention in commentary of when the play is due to end today in the Australia v South Africa test.

Star likely to use a 7 man team for the series.
Sunil Gavaskar, Sanjay Manjrekar, Ravi Shastri, Laxman Sivaramakrishnan, Nasser Hussain, Michael Atherton and Sir Ian botham.

I think Greg has been really good from what I've seen, pretty comfortable in the role and clearly knows what he is talking about. Good choice by BT.

Wonder who will Present the coverage in London.

If it is Ian Ward, could this be a real changing of the ways.

I guess Ian Botham gets the gig, cause he is who he is, Maybe Bumble is beginning to slow down.

On Ravi Shastri I thought he was involved in Indian cricket, in the setup, these days, so having him as a comm a weird choice

David Gower will present coverage from London, despite his new role as Durham chairman Botham will go as he takes up the role after the tour.

I'd be amazed if Botham doesn't have it in his contract that he gets to do all Tests that Sky show (with the opt out being on his on side not Skys i.e for tours like Bangeldesh.) Aside from Bangledesh I'm struggling to think of any tours that Botham hasn't done in many years now and I've been convinced that said clause exists since the 2 test Sri Lanka tour in 2012 when only him and Atherton went - and Atherton attends them all thanks to his role with his newspaper.

For the first time this century as a non Indian international cricket fan I feel I can do without Sky this winter.

non Indian and English fan? I'm guessing thats the bulk of skys cricket customers to be honest.

Caught a bit of BT this morning. Greg far to giddy and hesitant for me. One thing though it did show for the Sky cut backs on non-England tests to not have studio coverage is very obviously a minus, and very much a blackhole now.

I thought Alison Mitchell was supposed to be in Australia. They had this random SA Supersport reporter with a BT mic speaking to to KP.
