Anyone able to offer a comparison with Sky?
I tried finding an average for a comparable match on last year's BARB data but couldn't see any Australian tests in the channel Top 10s. Anyway non England games don't rate well on sky, think only really India or Pakistan games would get decent ratings on sky and even then struggling to make top 10 unless it is a quiet day for sports. Better comparison would be what they get for the ashes considering what they got for the first test is what sky normally get for the Australia home games as well excluding England games. |

Big bash ratings the key though since sky got some good ratings for those with some games getting 100-200k average ratings.

It just seems awfully ambitious of BT Sport if they were expecting a decent number of people in the UK to watch Australia v S Africa cricket starting at midnight every evening or whenever it was. Fine tuning in advance of the Ashes was probably more the objective. |

Going to hard to compare Aus v SA ratings anyway as they have change the venue order and are having day and nights tests too.
The 2nd test starts a bit earlier with coverage from 11pm. First test coverage started at 2am. |

Still not really an apples for apples comparison. For Big Bash you can watch the whole match in three hours, and something exciting (ie a boundary or wicket) happens more overs than not. Plus it tends to be played in the evenings in Oz, so for weekend matches at least one can watch them live at a reasonable time in the UK.

Does anyone take Sale seriously? Shambolic excuse for a 'journalist'.

I meant compare last year bash with this year bash, most of last year bash made the top 10 last year.

It's ALL about the ashes and showing ECB they can do Cricket at a high level. Ratings not even the key at this point. BT want a stronger summer line up.

I would expect similar content to rate similarly on Sky - maybe slightly higher but it won't be very different. The point is that Australian tests in the middle of the night (other than Ashes) will rate very, very, low - whether on BT or Sky. The point of my post was just to illustrate that - it's no big deal, it's no surprise, it's of no significance re other rights etc. |

What's with the wavey blue wave under the TV scorebox? Just what does that add to the presentation?? Grrr. Luckily with aspect on "zoom" it's hidden - and it puts the Indian logo further away too!

That wave under the score bar is so annoying.....and intrusive....who on Earth thought that a good idea?
Only watched a little this morning, but haven't heard a negative word from the Indian commentators so far re India performance...Athers seems to be speaking his mind though |

Cricinfo and espn channel in India got ganguly, trott and nick Compton working for them this series.
So guessing trott won't be doing the verdict considering he will be in Bangalore for the series. |

Trott suffered with home sickness hence why he ended his England career earlier then expected he will probably just report from London

Yeah he actually interviewed Joe Root twice at the end of play yesterday. Once for the World feed and again later for Sky.
Which is really awful with mayanti langer presenting awful voice with mostly atherton and gavaskar in studio, with dean Jones joining in. Star sport shows are usually very good but didn't see any technical or analytical aspect it was a lot of sponsored highlight that ten sports in particular does a lot of which is common in Asia. Would have been nice if they explained things more using touch screen or the zone like they did before sky even started using them. Very odd coverage really since espn actually giving better analyst than what the right holders are given. |
