I wonder if Duncan's gf has yet had the pleasure of being woken abruptly with a pan in her face and him saying, "Get up and wash this ****ing thing properly!"”

It was a good job he didn't do it to Vicky, she might have hit him with it

Just for clarity, can you tell me how they undermined her?

No. You are the one who said its only a bit of fun and we should all get along but then want to be free to use some rather unpleasant terms when referring to two of the camp mates.
I didnt like Lady C but you will struggle to find where I have been derogatory towards her.

Can you say similar?

He'd have only woken me up to do his bloody pots once, I know that. He'd have been leaving, gingerly, on medical grounds and I'd have been leaving on legal grounds.

I wouldn't have been a happy bunny either, I wouldn't have hit him but I would most certainly have done a Lady C.

I disagree

I think the younger ones were a little bit in awe of her.

Tony and Duncan have fragile egos, and saw Lady C as a threat because she exposed their frailties

I'd have only clonked him for his own good, I assure you. It would have been a mercy beating.

What was going through his head though? Who in their right mind goes and wakes someone up over a dirty pot? Just clean it yourself. Then if his sensibilities and puritan work ethic had really been so terribly offended that he absolutely had to moan about it, he could have dressed her down later, like a normal control freak.

^ It was very telling. There was nothing going through his head other than the woman responsible for cleaning the pot hadn't cleaned the pot so therefore she needed to be woken up and made to clean the pot because the alternative is that he would have had to clean the pot himself and that just was not on any menu in Duncan's tragically unreconstructed mind.

Nah, Vicky would have talked about nearly hitting him with it, in the bush telegraph later ... but in reality she'd have jumped to attention and stroked Duncan's ego , like she's been doing all along.

I'd forgotten about that!

How dare they talk and perform unsatisfactory chores in his camp.

Much as I hate to defend the odious Dunc....the camp duties have been allocated out, and no-one other than those allocated the tasks are supposed to do them. He wasn't supposed to be washing up, Fearne was.

So what would have happened if Duncan had washed that pan himself then ... to his own standards of cleanliness, instead of waving it around demanding of a woman that she do it again to his satisfaction ?

No idea what would happen if they did each others' chores - there's no way Dunc was going to find out, that's for sure!

Are you actually serious or are you as much an ureconstructed jobsworth as Duncan? All he had to do was wash the pot and no one would have been any the wiser.

No wonder poor Kieran spends so much of his time of late with his head in his hands, and no wonder Ferne, Vicky and George would rather be covered in jungle gore than spend time in camp.

When she was doing the water they were trying to make out she was doing it wrong and tried to take over (she was doing it correctly). Anytime there was something she had experience in e.g. Jamaican foods, they were not interested. It just seemed like they had dismissed her as the silly old women. Tony even said, he gave her the benefit of the doubt when they first met, indicating that he felt he had a reason to be against her from the start. With the beetle incident I felt like Tony was just trying to undermine and intentionally make her look bad (poor beautiful beetle) when he happily said he would eat any bugs, do any bug trials and happily eats seafood thats thrown into hot water alive.

I have never defended her over reactions though, she went too far on many occasions, I just don't consider it unprovoked.
