It was the first time they ran Smell What Sells in Series 7. It was because Natasha's team had won despite her not (succesfully, she sent Jim at the very end but he didn't get back in time) restocking at all over the course of the main day of trading. It was a silly strop to be honest - Susan at least deserved a treat given that she performed brilliantly on the task.

Thanks Monkseal - I didn't think it was that long ago!

I suppose Lord Sid was pissed as restocking as you went was the whole point of the task. Its unfortunate that the team all suffered from the PM's error, but that's business after all - if the boss screws up you could get no bonus or even have no job!

The last regular tasks of Series 7 and 8 also didn't have actual rewards, as the idea in those years was apparently that being in the final was enough of a reward.

Yes that definitely happened, I can't recall what series it was but Lord Sugar was very unhappy about what they had done.
Yeah it was series seven - LS fined Natasha's team £100 but they still won. Their treat was cancelled though. Ironically, Helen, who was on the winning team every week but that one, lost - but she still got all the rewards, meaning she got every single reward that was given .

Thus far i think 5 1st time both teams lost
1st time someone walked out after winning a task and withdrawing
1st time there have been 18 candidates
1st time someone in the top end of their 40's has taken part
1st time there have been more than 3 people in the final boardroom
on average thats nearly one every other week, Whats to say that there arent any more to come. bet theres at least one more 1st to come this series

You can add first time neither team won a task (no orders)
First time a contestant refused to appear on 'You're Fired' (Ella Jade last series had to withdraw from 'You're Fired' because her father had died, but she did subsequently appear on the show a few weeks later, so that wasn't a refusal).

I may be mistaken but I think this series was the first time Lord Shugs basically gave a candidate immunity and told someone on the losing team that they wouldn't be fired regardless of what went down in the boardroom (Joseph on the odd-job task).

That was a first indeed! I still don't get the point of it, who honestly was going to bring Joseph back in anyhow? probably just making the most of another opportunity to lick his arse

when i add those 2 1sts that gives me 7 1sts in 10 weeks so basically on average the apprentice is having a new 1st nearly every week oh and 1st time Nick Hewer hasnt appeared in a series as well as the 1st Claude has being an assistant to sugar in tasks and the 1st series where Karen has interupted in as many tasks as she has. that makes 10 for 1 every week can anyone add anymore?
