Here's a different scenario for you.
Just suppose that you buy a crumbling old ruin. It needs 2 million spending on it but you have no money? What do you do for money?
Someone suggests a stint on a Reality TV show, it pays well and you are (almost) famous enough to be on one.
Brilliant you think, but, you are a little intolerant of the great unwashed so the plan is formed to get in and out without much time wasted but to keep the big cheque
So, what to do?
The contracts state that you must stay in the jungle for a specified time to get the money. There are also clauses that will make sure you behave (no violence etc)
Well, it just so happens that you can be a bit belligerent but you can hold your own so you sign the contract but form a plan to be removed at the first opportunity
You know enough about the programme to know that if you insult the public they will make you do the trials, but that this will in turn, raise your value in the camp and with the voting public.
Now, there is no way you want be queen of the jungle or stay with the riff-faff in the camp and you most certainly don't want any of the other camp mates as friends but you need to be removed by the producers in such a way as to avoid invalidating that flipping contract.
So, and here is the clever bit, you decided to create havoc by causing arguments and pushing people's buttons, the main reason for this is that you will be removed but you haven't broken the terms of your contract.
Unfortunately this ploy does not work so you up your game and get really nasty. Still the producers won't remove you and it looks like you may have to stay in. Oh dear, not quite what you'd hoped for.
Never mind, you have another option. You go to the bush telegraph to complain constantly that you are being bullied relentlessly, this you do repeatedly but the producers aren't going for it. Damit, it'll have to be the lawyers threat then. How can that possibly fail!
This doesn't work at first but you know that one of your major skills in life is to grind people down. Eventually they give in and allow a managed exit and to your delight it seems you have quite a fan vase in the outside world,
Brilliant, the whole house can be renovated with all the interviews
Job done!

yup, Colin's got exactly what she wanted. I doubt if she will want to see to much of Kieron and Chris in the future, they served their purpose in the camp and are of no use to her anymore.

On the contrary, I think Lady C will extend an invite to both of them to her castle...she may renege on the offer to Brian though.

I think the OP's account is fairly accurate, but part of me thinks she wanted to stay in and show the others that the public were enjoying her, at least she can hold her head up high and say she was never voted out.

You've obviously thought about this quite a bit. You have to hand it to Lady C - people can't stop talking about her. She's an interesting character, that's for sure.

As soon as she went I thought it was a managed exit - with 'medical reasons' chosen because a) they don't have to explain, and b) she keeps her money.

Yes, that all sounds very plausible and it looks as tho it has worked. As much as I'd like to raise money to mend the roof on my mansion, I certainly couldn't behave in that awful fashion just to get what I wanted. To earn that sort of reputation is, in my mind, criminal in itself! I wonder if she could give Katie Hopkins a run for her money?

I suspect we won't ever get the whole truth, although it would be great if we really could wouldn't it?
I suspect that in the end we will only hear what the media want us to hear. After all they will already be planning next years show.

Excellent post Daisy. No I don't think we'll ever know the truth just different versions of what happened. I assume Lady C has no intention of suing? I doubt she would have been featured at all last night if she was going to.

The outline is missing the £50K she is reportedly selling her story to the Sunday rags for.

Well that is quite a convoluted "alternative view" from the OP.

I think what happened is what we all saw without own eyes.

Elderly lady goes into the jungle to earn a bit of money to help renovate her home, meets up with two male chauvinist dinosaurs who think women should be seen (if they are young and attractive enough), and not heard.

Lady C however, is a fighter and refuses to be intimidated by a pair of outdated arrogant oafs and answers them back. They then make her time in the jungle as unpleasant as possible until she is really fed up, and leaves them to it.
I think that's all there is to it.

Well no my eyes didn't see any of the things you saw. Although I would seriously reconsider the use of the word "Elderly" if I were you. I don't think it is a word she would like

The OP has it spot on, she used Kieron and Chris as her puppets and played some of the oiks for dolts with the poor little victim of bullying act.

That is what I said before I don't think she would take that to kindly.

Exactly!!!

'Elderly' at 66??? Really??? Many of my friends are that age or pushing that age and I'm heading towards it. Not one of us thinks of ourselves as 'elderly' or anywhere near!! So a little less emphasis on this ridiculous and blatantly emotive description, please.

It's just being utilised as a way of claiming she was a 'helpless little old lady who was mercilessly bullied by the nasty people in camp'

Clearly (to me and many others I know including workmates) this was not the case. She was definitely not helpless; neither was she 'elderly'.

I wish people would stop referring to her as "elderly" or "old" she is neither.

is it only people under the age of 20 who do this, who see everyone over the age of 30 as "old" ....or is it only her fans who like using those to terms to gain extra sympathy, like tabloids do when they say precede "grandmother" when referring to some ridiculous non-story to gain sympathy and outrage, even though the fact she is a grandmother has nothing whatsoever to do with the story

Perfectly reasonable scenario by the way OP

Couldnt even be bothered finishing reading a biased essay that doesn't even begin to take into account the motives of the others being there. Where's the alternative in this view? They are All in it for their own means, be it money or a rekick of their career and they ALL play a game not just Lady C
