Lady C is no fool that's for sure, she seems to have 'played' everyone rather well and is no doubt planning how to fabricate as much as she can to gain maximum exposure and funds from this experience. It's all about the money.

Well, I read it, and you've completely ignored the very loud and present external factors that contributed to her reacting in the way she did. Had you included those, your alternative view might have had a little bit more substance. As it is, it just comes across as your very subjective justification for your thinking she deserved everything that came her way.

I'm a big fan of balance. I can see all the occasions when LadyC should have risen above things, when she went low, when she really should have let things go, but your scenario ignores all the equally awful Duncan and Tony factors and chooses instead to see her behaviour in isolation, where only she was/s ever responsible for any fallout.

She could have gone in, been ultra quiet & voted out first. In,out, big fat pay cheque for a few days discomfort.

They all go in for money or exposure. They're obviously not in it for fun - most of them are as miserable as sin.

It wouldn't surprise me if her lawyers didn't manage to wring some hush money out of ITV on top too. A nice little earner funded by the oiks - that's what they're there for after all!

Sorry but as the links provided up thread show The Mirror also carried the report her spending a lot of time bush telegraph, making bullying accusations & threatening ITV with legal action. Not only does this seem to be the semi-official IAC paper, but it is also the media outlet through which she owe to release her accusations.

Of course if she does go through with her threats of legal action, against ITV or her camp mates, it is highly likely that the product company will have all the unseen footage available.

It is perfectly feasible that Lady C 'vented' in the bush telegraph at what she perceived to be ill-treatment by Tony and Duncan, however, we never saw it, and it certainly does not support the claim that Lady C relentlessly claimed she was being bullied.

That implies she was 'playing the victim' for the whole time she in camp ... and I saw no evidence at all of that.

For instance, whilst others have been weeping and wailing, Lady C never once shed a tear. Imagine how effective it might have been, had she been, as you seem to be suggesting, playing the 'bullying card' for her to have turned to Chris or Keiron for comfort ... having a little weep, and declaring, in despair, that she was struggling to put up with Tony and Duncan constantly provoking her ?

I think the OP is spot on with their "alternative view", add in Celebrity Big Brother and a few supermarket openings and she will be made for life.

Regarding the easy assumption that she is "old" or "elderly", I think springs from her general attitude of entitlement, which is something from a byegone age.
She is not even true aristocracy, she just married into it.

Of course another view is that your singing career is done, you don't get any TV work so you go into the jungle hoping to cash in on your former fame and want to keep the camera on you to raise your profile.

To your disappointment someone else seems to be getting all the attention, but there is a bright side, they have an endless supply of put downs which they will use if they feel they are being belittled. So you vote them laziest camp mate, when they have just done a horrible task to win your meals, refuse to act as Chamber maid to serve them, making it obvious that you have a personal grudge, push their buttons regularly because you know they will take the bait, and sit back and enjoy them looking the villain, with you the poor suffering victim.

If you have a bunch of adoring sheep to be on your side, it helps, you can make them feel isolated.

Keeps the camera on you and an added bonus would be them walking out, with you looking the hero.

Got to laugh at stuff like this - how obsessed are some people with someone they profess to dislike. Just can't stop talking about Lady C even though she is gone.

Except that Tony Hadley's singing career isn't over, Spandau Ballet patched up their differences & are touring again.

Add to that his work for Absolute Radio (he has a show every Saturday & Sunday on Absolute 80's &, no, he doesn't play a lot of his own records).

Now THAT is an interesting point

Nearly every camp mate cracks emotionally at some point.

Also "Gold" has been used in 3 recent adverts, Jackpot Joy, Bold 2 in 1 and Flora which helps to keep SB in a relatively high profile
