No H&S for Sugar, Karren or Claude?
When the candidates were being taken up to the top of the partly finished building at the start of the programme (to be told what their task was to be), I noticed that they all wore safety goggles and high visibility jackets .. fair enough.
However, Lord Sugar, Karren and Claude wore none of those things! Why the hell not? |

I'd suggest that when someone suggested Lord Suggs needed to wear a hi-viz jacket, hard hat and safety glasses, he promptly told them to sof off, so Karren and Claude followed suit. Once Suggs cleared off, Karren and Claude simply caved in!

Could it be that once on top of the building H&S gear wasn't needed, but getting to/from there it was?

The wearing of it probably was more visual than a requirement as i'm sure the site was shutdown to allow the camera crew etc in for the 30 mins so theres not much chance of a brickie dropping a half ender from 300ft up as they'll all be enjoying a BBC sponsored tea and butty break. Also after the previous DIY (Destroy It Yourself) task it would of made them think of what could it be? a scrap collection task again?

They should wear safety gear from the time they enter the site until they leave the area. Not only could they fall off the roof but they could be at ground level and someone, or a brick(!) could ‘brain’ them!
![]() But you are right, they should be wearing safety gear at all times and anyone who refuses shouldn't be allowed on site. |

It was for show, if it wasn't as has been mentioned then everyone would of been wearing it. I've never seen a builder wear, safety glasses, except when doing an actual job that required them.
