Scott Weiland Found Dead
ShotDownInFlame

Scott Weiland (ex Stone Temple Pilots and ex Velvet Revolver) was found dead in his tour bus last night while on tour with his new band the Wildabouts. It's truly a shame, I had a listen to Velvet Revolver's "Slither" this morning and was just overcome with sadness. RIP Scott.

Very sad news, but not entirely unexpected. He was a supremely talented man and, when he was clean and sober, was engaging, funny and bright. Sadly, he had well-documented demons to which he appears to have eventually succumbed. RIP.

Sad News.

Loved the STP's back in the day, always thought 'Tiny Music....' was a hugely under rated album.

I'm shocked. He was supposed to have been clean from drugs for years. Maybe he relapsed? So sad. He was a terrific artist. I loved Stone Temple Pilots. I especially love his solo album 12 Bar Blues. Wasn't a huge Velvet Revolver fan but liked some of their music. Scott was a very versatile artist musically. RIP Scott.

It's just really sad.
I saw STP at Reading many many years ago, and while Scott may have had his issues, he was a bloody fantastic front man and a very talented musician.

I found out about Scott Weiland passing this morning when I turned on the computer.

I was shocked and very saddened. I loved his voice and his work with STP as well as with Velvet Revolver.

Tomorrow I'll have a bit of ale and a listening marathon to honour him.

RIP, Scott.

Very sad news indeed. I met Scott around 10 years ago, when he was on tour with Velvet Revolver. He seemed a nice guy , but looked totally wasted then , although he was supposedly clean at the time. I've a terrible feeling that his lifestyle has caught up with him , but he has left a great musical legacy. Today I listened to Core and Purple again , I haven't listened to them in years, but they have certainly stood the passing of time.

TMZ is reporting that Scott Weiland suffered cardiac arrest/crack use.

Sad news, but it doesn't come as a huge shock.

Very sad news - super talented frontman. Never got into STP so much but was a massive Velvet Revolver fan (they were actually the band that got me into GNR).

Sad news.....I would have expected this a few years back but thought he was meant to be pk these days. Never a massive fan but always rated his voice and enjoyed quite a few of his songs along the way....Sex Type Thing was always massive for me! Fall To Pieces as well, a fantastic vocal on that one.

I am a big fan of Stone Temple Pilots. They were lumped into the grunge lot in the 90's as a couple of their tunes sounded a bit Nirvana or Alice in Chains.
Just a very good rock band with an outstanding frontman. Sad

Devastated. Was supposed to see him in October but he cancelled the show. Lucky to have seen him years ago when he came over here with VR and also with STP. RIP Scott x
