Tony stated that there were still things which he'd like to achieve in life.
I made a contribution to the effect that plenty of people reach middle age still hoping to achieve unfulfilled ambitions.
You stated that that decent people should only aspire to a rather restricted list of desires, as defined by you.
Tony aspires to things other than those which you have defined as being fitting for decent people, therefore Tony and, by extension, anyone else who aspires to something other than you feel to be appropriate to those in middle age, is not a decent human being.
As, by your definition, Tony is not a decent person, it is perfectly fitting that his family should be ashamed of him.
As stated above, if you apply this logic to Tony you are, implying that anyone else who, like Tony, has reached middle age & still has unfulfilled ambitions is only worthy of their family's contempt.
What part of that is inaccurate, pray tell? Perhaps you can enlighten us as to what alternative interpretation of your original post I've missed?
