Anyone with giff gaff?
As title? Seeing as Three are kicking us off unless we pay more for less I was starting to look elsewhere, giff gaff seems to be quite good for data and I like how your not tied down to a specific package.
How does it work exactly? You don't have to go to a shop to top up do you? Can I just pay by direct debit or something? Also if I ordered a sim to check what the signals like, would I need to pay anything or can I activate it and check signal strength without topping up? Thanks |

runs off O2 network, top it up via giffgaff website or app & also via O2 payg credit from shops ... month by month 'goodybag' packages with data allowance, no contract & can switch packages every month ... no mobile 3g/4g here so can't comment on mobile data speed

Five years with GiffGaff and no problems at all, as for speed i get H and that is in a very low signal spot,
https://community.giffgaff.com/t5/Ti.../td-p/14159693 Topup using credit / debit card or as i have done today by buying a 02 topup as i don't need data so much, but all my family are on GiffGaff so we get free calls to each other. Just going to test Data speed.... |

Yeah I've just read about that, although it's unlimited data they restrict it after you've used 6GB or something like that, think it was 245kbps.
As I'm all about data think I'll stick with Three, just had a word with them and because I'm only less than 200mins per month I can go for the £18 per month plan that offers AYCE data and 12GB of that can be used for tethering. So I should still be fine with that and save £8 per month in the process, not all bad then! The wife however will have to pay £6 more than she's currently paying because she needs more than 200mins(surprise surprise!) but if it means we have more data and not such harsh restrictions then I think it's still worth paying a few quid more and sticking with Three. |
