Is it possible to have an undeserving winner in what is essentially a popularity contest?

I guess if enough contestants left the jungle in a way which denied the public a vote, you could end up with an undeserved winner, but otherwise I don't get it.

According to the Bookies he will not win

He is currently around 11/1 to win

Matt Willis was something like 66/1 to win wasn't he when there was 5 left; then Dean and David both got eliminated

Matt Willis was something like 66/1 to win when there was 5 left; then Dean and David both got eliminated (both favourites) and he went on to win.

Similarly Dougie wasn't favourite to win and went on to win as well.

If we were measuring it on who has done the most trials then the winner would be pre-determined each time and the public wouldn't need to vote. They would just count up the trials at the end and award the appropriate person. This time it would be Vicky, as she's clearly done the most, and there would be no suspense element to it whatsoever. It would be boring and more than a little unfair.”

If it was a popularity contest, then the show wouldn't have trials as there wouldn't be a need for them. So the Trials have to count as being part of a campers' existence, but not all campers even wanted to do the trials. I think he upped his game once he saw how well Vic and Ferne did theirs.

Hope he does actually - he probably needs it more.

At least he is famous for sort of having a talent - unlike the other two who are just famous for being famous reality stars.

The way the producers keep setting him up to have a Jungle romance............*yawn*.......when they realised Jorgie was dull, they latched on to Ferne.

I'm not a fan of George (mostly because he is dull), but he is a more deserving winner than Kieron or Colin were.

Let us be grateful that both of them are gone!

He's as low as 5/1 now.

I hope so. Of the remaining three, he is the least irritating and most likable, and therefore the least undeserving, in my view.

The show has trials because they add interest, ensure it doesn't become too repetitive, and add extra revenue for ITV in the early stages. It's still a popularity contest when it comes down to it. I could understand your reasoning if George had done no trials whatsoever, or only a couple, but as I've said before, he's done a fair few and he's taken part in each of those enthusiastically and done well in them. So I don't see why he would deserve to win any less than the other two if we're citing trials as a reason.

The one out of McFly won and he was way more in the background than George
