Ive read and seen all the doom and gloom stories from phone/gadget insurance articles online, can anyone offer any advice on phone insurance ( nexus 6p ) that offers protection from:

Theft - taking without consent either pick pockets, from a bag, off a table with or without the threat of violence
Damage/accidents: screen cracks, water damage, drops etc etc
and so on

First thing to consider.

1. How many times in the last 5 years have I had a "taking without consent either pick pockets, from a bag, off a table with or without the threat of violence Damage/accidents: screen cracks, water damage, drops etc etc?"

2. If none then 3. If some then 5.

3. No need for insurance. If 3. Then 4.

4. Put the money aside in savings for your next new phone.

5. See if your house Ins covers or if your bank account covers.

I have claimed on insurance many times over the years and never had any rejected, although this was via either bank insurance or the networks provided cover.

Networks own insurance - expensive but more likley to be quicker - especially if business contract

Bank Insurance - free if part of your deal but can be slower - but think that depends on if its a repair or repalcement and type of handset. We had a BB Bold 9900 water damaged and that took a month to come back (new handset) but when we sent a iPhone6 for a smashed screen it took a week (would have been slightly shorter but I sent the one of the documents to the wrong place)
