If anyone actually reads the Daily Star "story" it will be obvious that it's simply a piece of speculation based upon comments on an online forum.
The headline is "Len will foxtrot off in Strictly shake-up"
The opening line is {quote]BBC bosses could axe head judge Len Goodman after Strictly fans demanded a shake-up.[/quote]
Then we learn
Quote:
“Producers are looking for ways to keep the show ahead of ITV rival X Factor in the ratings and are considering calls to replace Len with a guest judge.”
So who are these "Strictly fans" then?
Well
Quote:
“But some viewers aren’t happy with the veteran judge and criticised him on an online forum in a thread named: “What’s The Point Of Len Anymore?””
and
Quote:
“One wrote: “Remove sad old Len and replace with weekly guest judges like they do in the US version.”
Another added: “He always makes out that he’s nice Uncle Len until anyone dares to disagree with him, and then he loses his temper and the nasty streak comes out.”
One Twitter user, Rachel Ware, started the hashtag #sacklen.”
So that's sorted then. A few forumites pass comment and the media manufacture a story with a totally misleading headline
