The front page of Saturday Star has the headline "Strictly's Len To Go Shocker" I appreciate The Star can be a bit OTT with their Stories but I would not be shocked if he did leave. I wonder who would get his seat if he did quit.

Where is he supposed to be going .. to or from? Isn't he going to complete the series?

Maybe it's been planned a while. Anton to take over after winning maybe??

But we don't even know if SCD will be recommissioned next year. We don't even know if the BBC will get their charter renewed.

And that's where the plan fails.

(he's already signed on to do the next series of Dancing With the Stars so I highly doubt he'd step down from Strictly so soon)

If you place a bet on Anton you can have odds of 38-1.

why must a pro dancer from the show replace Len??? there are hundreds of well qualified judges in the UK without putting someone like Anton in the panel is poor enough without adding him. I hope Len stays

It wouldn't be James! He hasn't exactly made himself popular with the Strictly producers/BBC has he?

Ian Waite would be good.

But he is going to be participating on the next DWTS? I cant see the logic in him agreeing to that and saying goodbye to SCD

He has been particularly grumpy this year. I wouldn't mind seeing Karen Hardy as head judge. She certainly knows her stuff.

I wouldn't mind Karen so much if there was less of the gushing. Karen as a judge outside of SCD is great but I don;t like her so much on SCD. I would prefer they bring in someone new to the viewers. There are hundreds of qualified ballroom and latin judges in the UK,

Why would his replacement (that is if he goes) be head judge? One of the others could be promoted, with Craig the most likely candidate.

I think the head judge needs to be an expert in Ballroom and Latin, rather than a choreographer, modern dancer or ballet trained dancer. He/she needs to understand technique rather than just presentation and style.

Good point, but personally I'd like a familiar face. I know Karen gets on some people's nerves but I don't mind her enthusiasm.

I would be very surprised if they replace Len with someone unknown to general viewers. Strictly is now too important a flagship show to use a novice talent. It is far more important to them to have someone who has viewer recognisablity than formal judging qualifications, though obviously knowledge of dancing is important too. That's why it is likely to be a former pro in my opinion.

If anyone actually reads the Daily Star "story" it will be obvious that it's simply a piece of speculation based upon comments on an online forum.

The headline is "Len will foxtrot off in Strictly shake-up"

The opening line is {quote]BBC bosses could axe head judge Len Goodman after Strictly fans demanded a shake-up.[/quote]

Then we learn
Quote:
“Producers are looking for ways to keep the show ahead of ITV rival X Factor in the ratings and are considering calls to replace Len with a guest judge.”

So who are these "Strictly fans" then?

Well
Quote:
“But some viewers aren’t happy with the veteran judge and criticised him on an online forum in a thread named: “What’s The Point Of Len Anymore?””

and

Quote:
“One wrote: “Remove sad old Len and replace with weekly guest judges like they do in the US version.”

Another added: “He always makes out that he’s nice Uncle Len until anyone dares to disagree with him, and then he loses his temper and the nasty streak comes out.”

One Twitter user, Rachel Ware, started the hashtag #sacklen.”

So that's sorted then. A few forumites pass comment and the media manufacture a story with a totally misleading headline
