According to tellymix:http://www.tellymix.co.uk/reality-tv...pparently.html

I know they say things like 'such and such will rock the house' every year so not getting my hopes up for big things. But I wonder what he means by 'very different'?

I've got a feeling things really will be different this time around and I don't just mean in a twist which will rock the House FOREVER kind of way.

I think and hope we will see a completely different format, alongside a big change around in the House and outdoor staging. I don't necessarily believe going backwards is the answer, as I doubt that would win back any lost viewers. It's time for something new and initiative.

Anywho, it's last chance saloon with Big Brother UK IMO, this is the year to real in viewers and try something different.

Hope they don't throw baby out with the bathwater but suspect they will.

It won't have a 24/7 Live Feed
It won't have a new location
It won't have a new production team
It won't have a new presenter
It won't have a new format

So what makes anyone think it will be very different?

my memory isn't great but i don't think they've been on at the same time before

not saying that is going to happen this time but a recent bbspy article suggested they were both starting in january

this is one thing which i think has been glaringly obvious in needing changing for years, yet they did not see fit to change it then, so i very much doubt they will change it now.
its just incompetence at every level.

Now that isn't beyond the realms of possibility!

2014:
CBB13- 3.04m
The Jump S1- 2.16m

2015:
CBB15- 3.09m
The Jump S2- 2.13m

So it beats them by around 1m.

Pretty much

As of now the only thing is that the creative director, Denis has gone (despite only working on BB16 and CBB16).

I think that if C5 really wanted to improve the show, the first thing to do would be to give it a rest for a couple of years. In fact, I think that was the mistake they made from the start. People had only just said goodbye to it on C4, they'd moved on in their minds and weren't ready for another series straight away. Imagine if there had not been a series since BB11, and next year was going to be the first on C5. If they advertised it properly, they'd get loads of viewers!

If they did that now, it probably wouldn't have quite the same effect because people have become so cynical, but it would probably bring a few more people in than it would otherwise. It has got to a stage where if Big Brother wants to be popular, the long game has to be played.

Evictions need to return to the two-horse race format, take place inside a studio alongside a positive audience and become event tv once more, pretty much the same as AUS BB.

Today's evictions are so boring, humdrum, rushed and run-of-the-mill it's a total non-event.

I remember when almost every BB eviction was a major headline and talking point

Davina's tongue-in-cheek approach made them all the more exciting and edge-of-your-seat tv. Bikini Sam's eviction in BB6 was legendary!

They are almost pointless these days and there's nowhere near enough enthusiasm from Emma as she's usually too busy attempting to control rent-a-mob. I do love Emma and she was the obvious choice to replace Davina (how on earth Brian Dowling got the gig first is beyond me) but I would love to see that same passion from her as Davina had for the show, take the mickey and really ramp up the tension!

We know you live and breathe BB Emma, possibly even more than Davina did! Your 15-minute warning inserts have been good and so have your house tours (when they've happened). Don't worry about any comparisons with Davina either, you've more than made the show your own a long time ago. Just go a bit more crazy please - you know you want to! Keep up the good work! BB4EVA!

Two Nominees VTE evictions suck. So predictable and boring.

VTS with 3+ is how it always should be.

It wasn't like that for most of the most popular series.

I agree! Even evictions like Grace V Nikki in BB7 and Charley V Tracey (BB8), you knew 100% who was going, but the whole feeling of the show kept you watching!

I say bring back the one against one eviction. Maybe the Joel/Eileen one last series was a way to see if it's still popular?

I agree with this. I also don't want any of that 2 noms and you're up crap either, that goes against the whole point in trying to avoid being nominated. The people in charge of this show seem to pick and choose when use this rule though.

I don't want them making it up as they go along anymore. The audience should know what is going on, but we never do, we are only guessing these days. I want to know nomination and eviction rules from the start and i want them to stick to it. How can we trust the show if we don't know what is happening ?

Yes, I agree with that.

I think they decide after nominations how many people will be up based on who was nominated, and that's not fair. I know they say 'Big Brother can change the rules at any time', and it is of course fine for them to do that, but that doesn't mean making it up as they go along. It needs to still have consistent rules, even if they can be changed. An example of this is in BB13, the rule about discussing nominations was changed. They were allowed to discuss them for the first few weeks in the House, and then the rule was changed and they weren't allowed to anymore. That's fine - first the rule was one thing, and then it was something else. It was consistent, everyone was informed when the rule change came about, and whatever the rule was at any given time was stuck to. Changing the rules at any time does not mean just making it up on the spot week by week to get a desired outcome.

lets hope it is not edited like celeb get me out of here was... with the talking heads just repeating the same thing 3 times in a row but in their own words... which being aimed at simple people were not very different words to the person recounting the situation in the clip before or before that or as described by A&D before that..

Maybe next year will start doing the thing where the losing contestants are not evicted, but appear to be disintegrated instead (but are actually transported to a Dalek spaceship). We know that that will happen by the year 200,100, Doctor Who doesn't lie!
