The wardrobe budget has been cut/run out?

Or was Jay out with his band mates down the pub, immediately after the show?

At least he won't have to change.

His costume makes so much sense if you watched the movie (I saw it a few days ago ) or at least saw the musical but unfortunately a lot of people haven't.
He dressed exactly as that man in the movie .
Once is a beautiful musical and movie btw; I highly recommend it

He was dressed like the character in the musical. That seems to have been lost on many.

No I agree, I hate jeans for a dance, just doesn't look right, especially for a dance like the rhumba.

it was what the main character wears in the stage show so it was in keeping with the musical he was doing

I didn't have a problem with it

Everyone had outfits that fitted the musical, as did Jay. It was perfect for the film, anything else would have been strange.

I think we just about understand that point - it is difficult to grasp though

Considering the mad get ups, themes and music every Bloomin' week jeans and shirt is a welcome change.

it may have been 'right' for the musical, but it was still one of the most un stylish renditions of jeans and a shirt i've ever seen. it could have been so much better

They spent all the budget on the Beauty and the Beast teapot and friends outfits

Me.

I'm afraid that was lost on me, but from a viewers point of view, I really didn't rate the dance at all, I thought Jay looked awkward. He has yet to learn how to 'feel' a dance.

Could he not have been a dressed up version of the man in the musical? Like perhaps a version of him that's going to a wedding?

For Heaven's sake ! What kind of jeans and shirt did you want ? Versace ? Dolce & Gabbana ? The character was an impoverished street busker !
