Be stlll my beating heart! They may have been wearing jeans & shirts, but they looked a heck of a lot better than Jay - he just looked scruffy.

My thoughts precisely. A really odd choice for this type of dance.

It was totally in keeping with the musical but of course lots of people have never heard of it so does look like Jay had just rocked up in his own clothes. Maybe they should have shown a clip of the musical in the VT so people could get an idea of the mood of the musical. Anyway I actually liked the more natural look although i'd have preferred tighter dark jeans 😉

Like you, I actually liked the jeans and shirt, plus Aliona's outfit. It felt contemporary and less like they were hiding behind a costume. In addition, it fitted the musical and as you say, a refreshing change to the other costumes in its simplicity. I'm not saying I would like it every week, but here it worked.

But we'll ignore Gleb dressed as a member of the Village People or an Argentine tango!😜

Just more streamlined and less like a lumberjack!

Chicago on stage, this is how the men dress.

That's my point. Jay was dressed appropriately for his musical too yet apparently he should have dressed in 'typical' rumba clothes instead according to some on here.

Guys...guys

Don't quote me on this, but I think maybe that's how the guy in the musical dressed?

Oooopsie, quoted you

I don't see what is so difficult to understand. It's Musicals week so they dress like the Musical. Hardly rocket science, they'd be wearing a white lab coat for that

I wasn't keen on the jeans either but then I have an irrational hatred of blue jeans worn with black shoes.

Anton seemed to dressed as a 1950s Home Counties bank clerk who'd travelled back in time to Weimar Berlin in the early 1930s.

Yes, but that is more dance attire that Gleb wore. It's iconic.

Look I get that it is what they wear in the musical, put it this way, what Helen wore wasn't what they wear in Les mis.

They blew the budget on Kellie's dress, so it was bring your own jeans week for Jay

Jay's jeans should have been tighter.

No, it wasn't. Maybe it would have looked better if she had. Aljaz looked the part.

I thought Gleb would look better in shorts, now, that would have been an iconic look

He was supposed to look scruffy. He was playing a busker!

Someone said tighter jeans would have been better. He wouldn't have had those lovely fluid movements in tighter jeans!

I was anticipating a very casual look for jay after researching the musical and i think it worked fine tonight. There was actually an element SYTYCD about it...very modern & current...a breath of fresh air IMO. I actually think out if all the costumes GGs was just naff! But then i hate a Disney gimick.

God me too ... hate Disney theming!! So twee! And not right .. as someone said. If Giovanni is the Beast transformed then why did we have clocks and candlesticks etc dancing in the background!?!

You took the words right out of my mouth, there was no costume.

Some people don't need sequins and built up shoes.
