Hisense 50 Tv
Just bought a Hisense 50" 4k smart tv.. £418 from Amazon ..absolutely delighted with it so far.
I know it's not a Panny, Sony or Samsung or even an LG or a Vestel , I think it's usually referred to as Chinese crap on DS but at present I'm knocked out by the picture quality. Will report on how it's fairing after a few months ..if it lasts that long lol . |

But otherwise most people have said the picture is very impressive. |

I was thinking about getting one as I don't have much luck with TVs, no matter how much I pay. They normally go within a year or two.

Buy from someone with a free or very cheap 5 year warranty to solve that problem, at least for 5 years.

Looked at reviews of this and saw remote. Having Netflix and Amazon buttons on it is brilliant.

Saves numurous button presses, though I don't think the OP's model supports Netflix 4k streaming like the newer 2015 model.

I take it the TV doesn't have picture in picture?
It is the one thing I will miss on my old TV if I do buy another one without PiP. I have CCTV attached to my TV via HDMI, and it is great being able to watch 3 CCTV screens in each corner and watch normal TV in one of the other corners. |

I'd never even heard of hisense until I saw it on Amazon. On there it says they're were the 4th largest seller of tvs globally.

Unfortunately you are VERY much the exception, almost no one uses PIP - it's always been an extremely underused feature that's a waste for manufacturers to implement.
Nice and simple to use on my SONY tv.

I do so therefore must be exceptional.
Nice and simple to use on my SONY tv.Mine only allows the Freeview tuner to be the 'sub picture' while the other feeds are the main picture. Which means if I am using the CCTV as the main picture I can't watch Freesat in the 'Sub Picture'. |

I can have the Freeview as main or sub with any input. Or any analogue input with an HDMI (sub or main) I cannot have two HDMI inputs simultaneously. Both can be the same size so next to each other and the highlighted picture has the sound this can easily be changed with a press of a button.

Just to show that I don't go out enough, that is PAP (picture and picture) as opposed to PIP (picture in picture). Perhaps your tv can do both, as mine can. And I find it useful as I use the tv as a monitor so I can see if the pc has finished what it is doing without missing anything on the tv.

BTW are the ones being sold at Richer Sound Freeview HD?
They only seem to say Freeview on the description, no HD. |

I've found out they are Freeview HD, but I have another question.
Is the PVR function encrypted or can you view and play the recordings on a PC? |
