I think you will find Jay finished at MADD when he was 16 so by my maths that was 9 years ago. He actually joined The Wanted when he was 17.

... And it was only 3 years at MADD and before that it was only after school clubs in dancing. My kids attend tae kwon do and tennis after school. It hardly qualifies them as Wimbledon ready Martial art masters.

I note with interest that my comment about the name calling was ignored by certain person.

Until he was 16, Jay attended an ordinary Comprehensive School - All Saints in Mansfield - about 1 1/4 hour school bus drive away from home. He didn't do any dance there.

Went to tap classes with his Mum at 13 at an ordinary local dance school in the evening after School - suppose did some at weekends too. Did ballet there too.

Went to MADD from 16 to 19 to do full time Musical Theatre - dance, singing, drama and professional studies. Dance was contemporary dance as far as I can see. Understand he carried on with some ballet.

Auditioned for the Wanted at 19. It was decided they wouldn't dance in the Wanted.

So he has a bit more training than Georgia who did a 2 year Performing Arts course, but she did dance for longer - though think it was contemporary too.

Kellie went to the Sylvia Young Theatre School as a child, so had more and better training, but longer ago.

Helen had the best training - did Musical Theatre at the Royal Acadamy of Music, was a junior associate of the Birmingham Royal Ballet and attended the Birmingham School of Acting.

Kellie also taught at the Sylvia Young School before joining Eastenders

I think Kellie has performed dance on many occasions throughout her career. Sorry I’ve lost the link but she’s appeared in several musicals where she was dancing.

Personally I don't mind contestants having prior experience. However I dislike it when someone targets one of them when there is more to tell and therefore whilst we are doing a bit of straight record setting then we may as well do it for all

... and therefore the same would apply to Jay having done his after school club training in ballet (and tap) of course.

Actually it's a tad more than just street dancing as she used to go to dance school to do hip-hop and street dance and freestyle as well

Out of 12 series of SCD there have been six male winners and six female winners and the last two years have females. I don't see any advantage.... even for females who tend to do "batting" of eyelashes better than blokes as a rule.

Kelly by her own admission has "danced throughout my school life...When I was younger, dancing was my life, I loved it so much.’

At the end of the day all four have had training of various sorts and levels and their pros can gear their showdance to their strengths in which case, and I am looking forward to seeing them all without targeting any one of them with a constant barrage of disparaging comments. Good luck to them all.

We never actually saw evidence of that. Also, I'm not inclined to believe you when you said Georgia had equivalent or better training than Jay in another thread.

oops I made a mistake in a previous post about Jay and his time at MADD. Thanks for putting me right. It was really to prove to a previous poster that Jay had left there some years ago - 6 in fact when they were trying to imply it was less than 5 years.

I'm sure at this stage of the game, previous training does not give them any advantage as they have all had over 3 months of intensive training from a professional. Also none of them had been trained in latin or ballroom.

That's exactly it right there. I wouldn't mind if the criticism was "I don't like his style of dancing", but it's always a sneaky way of saying "He's only popular because he's pretty and everyone who likes him is a mindless little girl who only thinks with her ovaries." Not only patronizing, arrogant and rude, but sexist as well.

With regards to prior training, they're now all had the same extensive period of intense ballroom and latin training that I'm not sure their prior experience really counts for anything at this stage.

Well, all of them except Katie. With as much as they banged on about Anita being untrained, they all just sort of forgot that Katie is also untrained.

You'd be right . Georgia has the least dance experience of any of the three finalists with experience . 2 years on street dance , hip-hop .Nothing compared to jay's 6 years, right up until he was 19 .

No she doesn't. Katie does, having no dance training at all.

Also, Jay was 16, not 19.

Dont you ever get bored rigid spouting and typing the same old, same old? It's such a total borefest!

This whole series you seem to have concentrated more on the contestants (well, one in particular!) apparent previous dance training (even though it wasn't specifically in Latin and ballroom)! than just enjoying the show for what it is!

Also, as stated in a previous post, are you still not going to watch tomorrow night (as Jay made the final), but still going online to vote for anyone but him?

I haven't read about Georgia so you could be correct but could you cite your sources for where it confirms it was only 2 years of dance please? I ask because you keep going on about Jay having had 6 years intensive training whereas three of it was an after school club and the other three musical theatre.

Last but not least I would ask again, in your opinion does "Creepy little man" not qualify as a nasty name? In my book it does.

Read it again .
I'll repeat what I said ,
Quote:
“Georgia has the least dance experience of any of the three finalists with experience .”

The bib refers to jay, kellie and georgia obviously . If I'd meant all four finalists I'd have said that .
