Why all the hate for Charleine?
I'm sympathising with Charleine.
She's had to put up with candidates like Richard and Selina, and I think her hard graft has given the impression that she's a poor candidate, when she's really not. Lots of the screentime she is given is when she's arguing with either of them, unfortunately. Another way to look at it - if you take out any moments with Charleine talking to Selina or Richard, she's a much nicer candidate. Less shouting, less whining, etc. Had Charleine been on the winning team this week and Richard on the losing one, Richard would've immediately turned on Scott and Brett. He was on the superior team, whilst Charleine was lumped with a spiteful Selina and a good-for-nothing Gary. The only reason she butts heads with Richard so much is because they're so similar. Charleine is a really good candidate when she's in her element, and she's had plenty of nice moments. She and Jenny seemed to support each other quite early on in the series. When Gary was debating who to bring back, both Joseph and Charleine supported each other that it was 50:50 - neither blamed the other fully. You may think she's as bad as Selina, but look at their Twitter profiles. Selina seems spiteful about the show, Charleine seems quite pleasent. She supports her other candidates, too. |

I have no idea, she may be a little strident but clearly has a good business and a good business head. I like her.

Hmmm she simply irritated me from the start of the series, I always found her loud and annoying but I don't hate her. She was actually fine in the last episode, despite she lost her temper, and I agreed with her on everything she said about swapping teams wih selina. She would have done great in the high end buildings. Selina is dead weight really and Joseph should've known by now, but he's a doormat.

She's competent and has deserved to make it this far. However, I find her smug, irritating, patronising and loud.

I didn't like her treatment of Richard earlier in the series, it was ridiculous and petty when she kept asking to speak to David instead, but I've warmed to her in the past two weeks, she seems competent.

She seems okay. I don't dislike her but didn't like her stirring the pot with Dick Dastardly about Daniel in the back of the car.
I thought it was lights out for her in the story book week. She was quite bad. |

Why would hard graft give us the impression she's a poor candidate? And why should you ignore the moments when she's arguing with Richard and Selina? Arguing in any capacity denigrates a person's professionalism, particularly the way in which she's done it; screaming at the top of her lungs sometimes. You've also berated Richard, yet said he's similar to Charleine who you're championing? I think Charleine only 'supported' Jenny was to use her to compare her to Selina who she wanted to complain about. And talking about how bad Selina is on Twitter, doesn't make what Charleine actually has done any better. Charleine has had her moments, mostly in sales, but the unprofessional way in which she's carried herself at times has led me to the conclusion she's in no way suited to being Lord Sugar's business parter. |

Criticism is not hate. On the show she has come across as unprofessional and unable to control her temper.

She is competent, yes, but she can be quite a nasty thing - remember her questioning April's skill to write a book? .

To much screaming and shouting, she's a bit of a div, like cringeworthy
But she's been an effective player in some of the tasks |

Perhaps it will be different now Selina has gone but so far the impression given is a strange mixture of competence and childishness.

I've disliked her ever since the Shampoo task when she threw a strop when she wasn't voted team leader (in a fair vote). It was so incredibly childish the way she sulked about it afterwards.
She's also got serious anger-management issues - constantly screaming and shouting at people, even when she's specifically told by Lord Sugar not to. She's a real s**t-stirrer too, like when she told Joseph that David has said he felt he needed to prove himself so that Joseph would join her in ganging up on David later. When she was team leader (in the Children's Book task) she had a very condescending, belittling way of talking to her team members (especially the way she treated Richard). All in all, she seems pretty unprofessional and childish to me. If I was Lord Sugar, I definitely wouldn't want to work with her. On the plus side she's proven to be a decent salesperson, but that's about it in my opinion. |

Then again, some of the bolshiest candidates have gone very far in the process (Joanna Riley, Katie Hopkins, Claire Young, etc.) I was kind of on her side with the whole "stirring the pot" thing. I think she was doing it not to spite David, but to be honest to Joseph - who she worked well with. She's proven several things - she's a good seller, she was a good negotiator, she does listen to her team (remember children's book week - she wanted the blanket idea but it got shot down by her team, even though it was the better of the two ideas). She's not perfect, but she is quite good. |

I don't like how she's made conflicts personal. She's given as good as she's got, and more, to people like Richard and Selina. She's definitely competent as a salesperson, but being a good salesperson does not have to make someone likable on a human level.

I felt sorry for her in the last episode. Selina really knows how to wind people up but Charleine didn't have to rise to it. As much as I don't like Joseph I thought he dealt with Selina pretty well.

She's too hysterical for me, it really puts me off. Yes, she's a competent candidate and at times, she's lovely. But she can REALLY scream when she's annoyed, and not just at Selina, but we saw it with David as well, and it's annoying and unprofessional. Ultimately, I can't imagine Sugar wanting to work with someone like her.

She's competent, has a decent business brain and is a good saleswoman, but her inter-personal skills are terrible. The way she clearly hated Selina came across as really weird, like she'd forgotten she was in a business process.

I think she's quite amusing. She's bossy and stubborn but I've usually understood where she's coming from. Richard needed someone to have banter with to keep his ego in check, Selina is a nightmare so I was totally Team Charleine for that...
The time I thought she came over really poorly was when she was attempting to bulldoze poor David in the boardroom, it made me think maybe she is a naturally aggressive person. But maybe she was just going overboard in trying to save her own skin, like many previous candidates have. Plus she was probably feeling a bit humiliated after getting up to go and having to be told to sit down again. She seems quite chipper on twitter. There was a time when I thought her and Selina were going to massacre eachother in the boardroom and get double-fired. But the contrast in their attitudes outside of the show made me think otherwise. I sort of knew that Charleine would at least do better than Selina in the process and I'm glad she did. Whether she can win or not is another question but I wouldn't count her out. She's probably the most passionate candidate left. Passionate for business that is, I don't know anything about her personal life. |
