We have a new LG Smart TV, which is connected to an Antenna for Freeview HD. Whenever we switch it on, it selects the Antenna for about a second, then switches to the AV1 input. There is not, and has never been, anything attached to this input. So we have to manually switch the input back to Antenna each time.

Is there some way of convincing the TV that Antenna should be the default start input? I have Read The Fantastic Manual, and also tried googling, but haven't been able to find anything helpful.

Have a quick read of the manual (or use the hideous E-manual built-in help that most Korean TVs seem to come with now) and se if there's an option to set the default input. Quite a few TVs have this as a feature where it can jump to the input of your choosing after power up to save you the job of switching it manually each time.

On my LG TV one of the options along the bottom of the screen in the Input select screen is for Simplink. Try turning that off. The TV should normally switch on with whatever input you last used but Simplink can overrule that if the TV thinks there is a switching signal on another input.

Quite why it should think there is a switching signal present on an empty socket is anyone's guess. But as a first step try turning Simplink off and see if that stops it doing it.

Thanks - I'd forgotten about the e-Manual. It's not exactly easy to find, either - the only menu option in Settings that I had to scroll down for...

Thanks. Simplink was switched off, but (to be sure) I switched it off and back on again. Still no joy!

It is new and could be faulty, contact your dealer for advice or replacement.
