Lift aside, it was still THE MOST thrilling pro performance on Strictly this year.

I loved it.

I loved the Lion King thing as well, even if the Strictly lot looked like tourists or something.

The Amazing Anton always delivers when the occasion demands, his wide range of dancing skills always serve him very well.

Agree completely. It was delightful to see a proper ballroom pro dance.

There's so many wonderful artists who have recorded "Over the Rainbow," I wouldn't put that. although quite competent, anywhere near the quality of my favourites.
To think this great song was originally deleted from the film, but in the end it was put back in.

Anyway, time for the musicians' "Over the Rainbow" joke.

An LA saxophone player gets a job in the pit orchestra of a West-End production of; "The Wizard of Oz"
This guaranteed him at least three months work, so he was well pleased.

He arrived in the UK in mid-December, when it was dark, cold and wet.

He was living in a small West-End hotel on the second floor and although working with the orchestra was OK, he became quite depressed as he hated the weather.
December dragged into January, February and then March. He felt really dispirited.

Then one morning he awoke to bright sunlight, it was warm and the birds were singing.
Cheered by all this, he threw open the window, picked up his sax and started playing "Over the Rainbow." By the time he'd played two verses, he was that good, a small crowd had gathered below his window enjoying the music.

But for the life of him, he couldn't remember the middle eight, so he played more verses.

Cries of "Play the middle bit!" kept coming up from below his window, but he still couldn't remember it.
He got more and more frustrated as he played more verses, until that and the increasing and vociferous anger of the crowd made him so upset he jumped out of the window.
The crowd were aghast and as he lay bleeding on the pavement, someone phoned for an ambulance.

Minutes later he could hear the siren of the approaching ambulance.

"Dee-dah, dee-dah, dee-dah, de dah!"
"Dee-dah dee-dah, dee-dah dee-dah!"

His last word was, "Bugger!"

I agree. And all properly and attractively dressed as well instead of the usual crotch, vest and tattoo display we are treated to. I sound like my mother.

The tune is so emotive, it doesn't even need words.

I thought Anton and Joanne were fabulous. It seems so rare to see the pros do a ballroom dance that it is all the more special when they do. I would have loved to have seen them dance from a single camera that showed the whole dance floor and didn't switch between the dancers and Josh.

The cameras were wizzing around so much it took me few seconds to recognise who they were.

It was a great dance by Anton and Karen. I liked Josh's vocal but I thought he looked a bit rough, could do with a shave.

For the Lion King, I would have left out the pro's, they weren't needed imo.

It was beautiful

Why they don't have more 'proper' dances I don't know.

Think Joanne's superb ballroom dance skills are under used.
