I'm just after getting into coffee - chilled preferably - and coffee liquor might be just up my street. Is it a nice drink?

I like it, but after a while I get fed up with it. It can get a bit sickly. I prefer Tia Maria.

You might want to trry Dark and Light from Aldi. Basically the same as Kahlua but £4.99 a bottle!

I haven't had Kahlua for decades. If you fancy some different coffee tastes OP, try Sheridan's or something unusual that I can recommend Patron XO made from a base of white tequila. You can also buy a 5cl miniature for £8.80 if the 70cl price is too much to risk.

Take the XO designation with a pinch of salt, as applied to this product it's just a marketing term, rather than an indication that aged tequilas are used.

Something you could try with the liqueurs if you feel self indulgent and like the taste of Espresso are Ferrero Pocket Coffee, but very expensive. They are actual liquid espresso coffee inside a blended bittersweet chocolate coffee shell with a sugary inner layer, but not a sugar shell as such.

Even with the sugar they are still quite bitter, so a good foil to sweet coffee/coffee liqueurs. I repeat though you must like the taste of Espresso because as soon as you bite into one the taste floods out.

I might use some of this for the Amazon review I need to write, just not sure how many stars to give them at the moment.

Kahlua's currently on offer at Sainsburys at £12. Comes in a special box depicting one of 5 cocktails, with a poster inside as well.

Found this today, it's actually called After Dark, which explains why I couldn't find any reference to it online

It's very good! I take it it's a seasonal product, as I've never noticed it before.

Asking if something is nice is a bit like asking if a song is good, isn't it all a matter of taste?

The only way you'll know if you like it is to try it, no matter if 99/100 people say it's nice, you might be the 1 in 100 who doesn't like it

I like it in coffee, with cream on top. Will partake in one or two of these at Christmas.

When I was in Canada a few years ago it was commonly added to hot chocolate.

In a White Russian it is yes.
And in a Brown Cow or a Black Russian.

Haven't had any of them for years, but might have to get a bottle of 'After Dark' this Christmas and mix up a storm.
