Such a shame to see Helen go

I tend not to start new threads, but there hasn't been much comment on Helen's exit.

So I just wanted to say that I am sorry to see her go. This wasn't one of Helen's best weeks, and I thought the judges were absolutely right to save Georgia based on their performances on the night. Nevertheless Helen (with Aljaz) has produced some beautiful ballroom dances during the series.

Yes, she was one of my favourites. It's a real shame to see her go.

I thought she was very sweet and dignified about it too.

No. Not Helen. She is gorgeous. And she dances quite well too.

I couldn't pick anybody I "wanted" to go tonight as all of the remaining dancers have really impressed me over the weeks. But I'm very sad to see Helen leave as I don't think she was appreciated as much as she should have been.

But it's a tough year now as we have such a strong group.

Well said.

She is not one of my favourites but she was a really good dancer and so enthusiastic and you could see how much she enjoyed dancing. It's a real shame. I think the win could have been a well needed boost to her personally in terms of confidence given the breakdown of her marriage etc.

P.S. It's also nice to see a positive thread given the amount of negative ones in the last 24 hours again

Totally agree Ann. Very sad. She was a lovely dancer, although the paso was not really her best dance, but still better than others we saw. And now there are 3 others with a lot less talent left

It was very clear that none of the judges agreed with the public vote. Sadly there was a lot of panic voting last night which pitched the weakest dancer onto a position she does not deserve.

I wonder if next week sanity will return?

She is very unlucky.
Wrong dance and wrong opponent in the dance off.
I'm very sorry to see her go.
Just like pixie last year she definitely deserved to be in the final in my opinion.

Her VW last week is my dance of the series so far. It took me a long time to warm to her -- never having seen her show -- but I'm really sorry she was in the bottom two. For what it's worth, I would have saved Georgia too but wish Helen hadn't been the one to face her in the DO.

ETA thank you for starting the thread Ann_Dancer

Helen's exit reminds me of Pixie's. Gone too soon and opened up the competition.

I've only warmed to her recently. She seems really sweet, great dancer and amazing legs!! I prefer Georgia over her but would have preferred others to be in the dance off.

Delighted Helen has gone. Next week Kellie hopefully
who me?

I'm very sad to see her go and loved a lot of her dances...most especially her Marilyn one, her mummy one and her stunningly beautiful VW. I also thought her exit dance and her exit generally was beautifully done. Great couple...great chemistry...great shame. She really did improve her dance in the dance off too but it was the fair result on the night (in the dance-off) even if it does feel pretty crappy that she's not going to be competing next week.

I'm sad to see her go as well. When she's at her best she is capable of producing such beautiful dances, and even when not at her best you can see the effort she's put in to try to pick up the relevant technique for that dance. I can see why the judges made the decision they did with Georgia and Helen in the dance off and I do agree with their decision based just on their dances from this week but I'm very disappointed that I won't get to see Helen dance again next week and in the final.

She went out with grace though and I'm so glad for her that she managed to hold onto her self-control throughout the dance off and elimination.

Her leaving dance and moment was lovely . Sad to see her go

Same as Pixie ...wrong dance and tough opponent. What a shame ... such a beautiful dancer and what's annoying about these situations (same as Pixie) is that she has no opportunity to bounce back.

She's been my favourite from an early stage so I'm gutted to see her (and lovely Aljaž) go. I really wanted her to make the final. I think Georgia deserved to win that particular dance off (teapot notwithstanding) but I wish it hadn't been Helen in there with her.

Her leaving speech, in fact her conduct from the moment her name was called as being in the bottom two, was gracious, dignified and classy and from reading other threads I think she won over a few people who had struggled to see that side of her previously, which is a small victory of sorts.

So am I. I've enjoyed seeing her dance each week.

yep...sadly this wasn't her dance though...and those 'extras' confused the issue.
last week she would have sailed through against anybody.....luck of the draw and 'popularity' did for her in the end.

Wasn't my favourite but I think she can consider herself very unlucky to have gone this week.

Craig's reaction is laughable though the judges did out Helen bottom two and if he hadn't have given Anita such a stupid score maybe it would have been her down there with her.

I loved Helen. She was such an elegant dancer. Easily the best in the competition. She was also the most classy, the most polite, with lovely manners. She seemed like a really lovely, genuine person. I thought she'd be in the final for sure.

Shes been one of my favourites from the start and i would have much preferred her to stay over Georgia who still does next to nothing for me. I understand why the judges chose her over Helen though

Wrong dance on the wrong week and thats enough to see one of the best dancers gone. Such a shame

Totally agree. I also thought the judges made the right decision in saving Georgia based on their respective dances. Helen was unfortunate not only to land in the bottom two with one of her poorer dances, but also in doing so to be up against a very good foxtrot from Georgia. In another week Helen might have had the better dance (eg. last week Helen's VW was better than Georgia's paso).

I'm really sad to see her leave and thought she was the best ballroom dancer of the series (as highlighted by her VW, foxtrot and quickstep). I think the final will be a lot poorer for her absence.

Her vw was stunning . One of the few dances that really drew me in this series. In fact ever . Afterward I was like "Holy crap janette , better watch those two !" . It was just so believable and romantic . Great acting and my idea of a perfect vw . This week she did a great fiery routine but it was a bit lacking in paso moves for my taste.
Lovely girl though and I can think of two other couples more deserving of getting the boot this week .
Well done helen and aliaj .

Her latin was a bit weird at times but her ballroom was amongst the best we've seen I think. VW is a strong contender for dance of the series.

I was never confident she'd reach the final judging by the negative press she got at the beginning and a lot of the comments about people not 'warming' to her. However I rather liked her.

It was very sad to see 2 of my favs in the bottom 2. It is a popularity show imo and she did not have the support.
