That is the question. Before tonight, I would have seen Georgia winning ahead of Jay and Helen, who is now out. But now, is Georgia popular enough to win ? She certainly deserves to.

i think Alesha Dixon was in the dance off in the semi finals?

And this is the closest year. I'd say most people are assuming Georgia and Kellie are at a disadvantage now but it's so close this year, who knows? Who'd have predicted Helen out tonight this time last week after topping the leader board and quickstepathon?

Georgia wont win, she will get through next week and might be lucky to make final 3

Alesha was bottom 2 week 10 which was the quarter final. Gethin went the following week leaving Alesha and Matt for the final.

James Jordan did

Quote:
“James Jordan ‏@The_JamesJordan Dec 5
Right tweeps

Tough this week but my prediction for bottom 2 is:

Helen vs Kellie Helen goes 😞”

He got the bottom two wrong but he did call it about Helen leaving

I agree with this. I think it's impossible to call the exact finishing orders. Nobody would have said Helen was guaranteed a place in the semi finals, nor would they have said she was a cert to go tonight. So I think next week could be exactly the same in the sense that it'll come down to how they get on on the night.

Plus Denise Van Outen and Natalie Gumede both ended up in a few dance offs in the latter stages of their series and although neither won, neither came 4th in the final either. So I don't think anything is certain.

There's nobody ahead of Jay in voting terms, absolutely no one. He will win.

I totally agree she deserves based on merit and improvement. What I really want is for Georgia and Gio to get to the final and produce the most amazing dances knowing they can hold their heads high because I have already come to terms with Jay winning it.

Lol but then I did say "who would have predicted that this time last week".

I'm taking succour from the fact that Susanna Reid was the nation's sweetheart until the final where Abbey Clancy wiped the floor with her.

Don't count Georgia out yet

Would have said Georgia would have been the runner up before ending up in tonight's dance off, now it will be Anita I guess. Jay is obviously winning by a mile.

I think Anita and Jay are topping the public vote, maybe Anita even top ahead of Jay in some weeks. Kellie only had a bounce back vote this week and is probably usually bottom or near bottom in the public vote.

Here are how I think any future dance-off will go:

Georgia will stay against anyone
Jay will only go out if he is up against Georgia
Kellie will go out against Jay or Georgia
Anita will go out against anyone, may be close if it's against Katie
Katie will go out against anyone except Anita but that will be close (see above)

Alesha was in the dance off in the Quarter finals BUT there are differences. There was only 4 left in the QF in series 5 so there's was only 2 couples safe. It was melt down week so the vote was skewed in favour of Matt who forgot half his dance & would have received more votes than perhaps normal. So I will always believe that this was the only reason Alesha was in the dance off.

I personally think Georgia won't win.

Jay will stay over everyone else. Georgia and Kellie are the next strongest with the judges leaving Anita and Katie relying on the public vote to remain clear of any DO.

I thought this too, that Georgia would be second, but now it's jay's to loose. I can't see Anita beating him in a final (if both make it), but clearly she has more fans than Georgia and helen on tonight's showing. presumably Anita has more than kellie too given she's usually lower than Keller on the board. I just wonder if anita can surpass the sympathy and desperate need to see anton maximise on prob his only chance of ever winning.

The final will perhaps be Jay and Anita, with perhaps Georgia just about lucky to make it. Don't know if kellie has regained popularity after two bottom two visits, but maybe Georgia might be lucky to get the next week bounce (unless she's just not liked). Katie might pip Georgia if Anton lovers push him through.

The winner will either be the expected Jay, or the unexpected two varying journey women (of Katie or Anita, neither the most talented dancers, but big hearts and all that darren gough likeability).

After the Saturday show I had a inkling that Georgia might be in trouble, even though she danced well and was quite popular. She had the first slot and all the other dances were more memorable (despite the Dali-esque backing dancers) and also controversial, there was another foxtrot later and she wasn't clearly better than that, the saccharine Disney stuff probably doesn't appeal to many adults, and she looked safer on the leader board than she actually was.

Why is this the closest year? This is the year of the absolute bolt on winner since very early on. There has never been such a guaranteed winner on Strictly.

Same here. I wasn't at all surprised to see Georgia in the DO. I've always maintained that she her popularity/support on this forum is not reflected by the GBP.

Yes Alesha but she was Very popular back then. The situations are very different. What happened is that Matt di Angelo forgot his dance and sat on the stairs at the middle of the routine. ...he got tons of sympathy votes for it. .people felt so sorry for him that night. .he just blanked. People assumed that Alesha was safe because she was high enough on the leaderboard and didn't vote. It was just one of these things, an unfortunate incident but no Alesha was VERY popular with the public. I never really felt like Georgia was that popular.

I really thought that Georgia had a chance to win but now I'm not so sure. I think that a lot of people have their firm favourites already to just switch allegiance at the last min.

The winner will be Jay, Anita or gasp Katie if she makes it to the finale. In my personal opinion, it's between Jay and Anita; they're just too far popular than the rest.

How is it obvious that Jay is winning by a mile? Do you have some inside knowledge of voting patterns this year? Based on who's been in the DO and who hasn't, I don't think we can draw any conclusions about the relative popularity of Jay, Anita or Katie vs each other, though it's a reasonable punt they are more popular than the other two who have both been in the DO.

I think Georgia is in with a small chance of winning but I think its more likely to be one of Jay, Anita or Katie who wins but i'm not sure who yet

Closest in terms of ability. Nobody knows for sure the popularity of Jay and whether he is miles ahead or not. That's why.
