He was right. He was aiming it at both of them. It's the biggest shocker of a DO for a long time and neither deserved to be there - yet.

Based on the judges scores Helen actually should have been in the DO (albeit not with Georgia). So I'm not sure how Craig can blame the public for putting her there!

Did he forget that his marks place them on a leaderboard too ? In fact his remarks and 6 for Anita probably kept her out of the dance off thus getting Georgia there

And if our Head Judge only uses 2 scoring paddles for 6 couples and can't split Georgia, Helen, Katie, Kellie and Anita giving them each a 9 - how are the viewers supposed to?

Yes, Craig was right. In fact all the judges were unhappy with those members of the public who pushed two of the better dancers into the bottom in order to save one mediocre dancer.

Sometimes the GBP can be stupid - equally, you can vote as you wish. No argument there.

However, I expect the silliness to be sorted fairly soon and order will be be restored

He's entitled to voice his opinion.
The judges have lost out before when Chris Hollins won, if it happens again so be it.
I just hope that people vote for a dancer in the end and not the best self advertiser.

The two poorest dancers (on the night and left in the competition) weren't in the DO but if the GBP decide to submit multiple online and phone votes for Anita because they thought Craig's score and feedback was 'cruel' rather than because it was accurate then I reckon he's right.

Marking down a reasonably performed dance for which you give a value of a third less than another judge, just riles the public so they vote to save them.

Still, the BBC will enjoy some great undeserved extra publicity for the show in tomorrow's papers.

According to their scoring these are who they felt should be bottom 2:
Craig: Anita and either Katie/Helen.
Darcy: Helen and Anita
Len: any 2 of Helen/Katie/Kellie/Anita/Georgia.
Bruno: Anita plus one of Georgia/Kellie/Katie/Helen.

All the judges had Helen as bottom 2 potential and 50% of them Georgia.
If they can't make their minds up, don't have a go at the voters!

Craig has demonstrated this series that he has zero credibility as a judge. The other judges are criticised more than him on this forum, from what I've read, but he is the most biased and that's been visible since the Lisa Riley series.

It's never a good idea to insult the Great British Public. IMHO he was rude to say it, especially after the Jamelia/Peter debacle. He's there to do a job, not slate the voting public. It's part of his contract to choose one of the two in the dance off, not slag off licence paying voters.

To be honest, this series might be my last, it's becoming tarnished, and I find myself irritated for one reason or another most weeks (I hasten to add only irritated, as there are bigger problems in the world right now...I do know that )

I'd say 'where she deserved to be' actually. She's a real trooper but her technique is terrible and she's not getting any better. She's done well but there are others who have worked harder.

Yeah, Craig could barely contain his bitter disappointment. I genuinely feel a little sorry for him but the judges themselves put Helen second to last so at least in her case, there was no need to point the finger at the viewing public.

Dancing first isn't an advantage. The judges can't mark too high as it leaves left "wiggle room," for a better performer who comes later.
