If the public had voted in greater numbers for Helen, she would not have been in the DO.

Talk about desperation for a headline!”

Totally agree

If the whole Peter and Jamila debacle hadn't occurred this would just be described as a shock exit. Unfortunately the BBC have made a rod for their own back here when 'saving' Peter and just have to hope they get through it without destroying the show totally.

Spot on, the show is verging on an up to date Laurel & Hardy farce , it is sad what the Beeb now consider entertainment...rather antiquated humour....

Georgia for whatever reason is not as popular and so did not get enough votes. Whilst Anita and Kellie may not be technically perfect, they are entertaining and clearly that's what people have voted for. People should just accept it for what it is - entertainment. Let's get this in perspective- It's not life or death. Helen still has a job; she'll go on the tour and she has a new skill to add to her portfolio. She'll be fine.”

Whoever went out on Saturday was going to be a "shock". It was a strong final six, all capable of beating each other if it happened to be "their dance". In fact, if I forget my prejudices against one contestant, this year probably had the strongest final eight I can remember on Strictly.

Blood is in the water. The rags were slow on the uptake when one could argue that something wasn't right with Jamelia's DO, but now? People did not vote for Helen, not a surprise, or Georgia, that could be surprising. But it seems that they voted for Anita and Katie instead and forgot/ never cared about Georgia. Once there's only a few contestants left, plus there are ties on the leaderboard, anything could happen.

It's a TV ENTERTAINMENT show based on dancing. The BBC couldn't give a fig who wins or who loses - it really REALLY doesn't matter to them. So long as plenty of viewers still watch, that's the only thing they care about. However, they are probably rubbing their hands in glee at all the free publicity these daft papers are giving them!

As for Helen leaving - her dance wasn't good; she had clearly failed to grasp the importance of shaping etc...... Georgia being in the B2 was more surprising, but clearly voting viewers didn't vote for her either.

But hang on it says about 3 BBC employees are left but isn't Helen a BBC employee? Their augment rather falls down there.

I'm so fed up with the Mirror's sensationalising headlines that Ive emailed them and asked why they didn't go with the factual headlines like:

"Dancer in bottom two on leader board eliminated" or

"Fans of Helen George go into meltdown over her elimination" or

"Helen George didn't get sufficient public support to stay on Strictly"
