Sound control with the Humax 1100

Hi Everyone,
Just replaced my 37” Panasonic with a new Samsung UE40JU6400. I am using this with the Panasonic PVR Model No. DMR-HW220
Long story short, I have no control over the sound levels or changing the AV input with the Panasonic PVR remote. It can only be controlled using the telly remote which is so annoying.
The last time I had this problem was with the humax 9300 but I got past it by using the Scart socket but that option is not available, just wanted to ask the question, will the new Humax 1100 sound level control, work with my Samsung TV ?

Isn't this a case of just changing the Humax audio output from Surround to Stereo?

Have you tried all 5/6 codes listed in the Panasonic PVR's manual for controlling Samsung TVs??

It's typical that some codes will turn on/off the TV but not control other functions, like sound level.

Yes, I have just tried them this morning. SAMSUNG 32/42/43/65/68
I pressed the on/off button on the remote and entered the code ( didn't give any more instructions than press on/off button ) , it looked like the code was going in as the screen went black then started up again, but no luck.
I have contacted Samsung today for help, will contact Panasonic later.

Just to confirm, were you pressing and holding down the TV On/Off button while you entered the code? That is what the manual implies you do.

It does also say that if the codes don't work your TV is not compatible with the remote. I would be surprised if Samsung will be able to help as they are not responsible for the Panasonic remote and probably have no idea how it works.

Also there may be no code you can enter that allows the remote to work with your TV.

I'd just get a universal remote control. Yes it's extra money but in the long run so much simpler and more convenient.

Cheers for the help folks, May have to look for the universal remote control to make it simpler as you say.
P.S. My Humax Foxsat PVR works in a fashion, when using the Humax remote and just generally browsing though channels etc the sound level control works fine, but as soon as I play a recording the sound control is lost even though I see the sound bar icon moving up and down on the screen.

Try Menu=Settings-TV Setup-Dolby Digital - Off

Hi everyone,
Just to update this, the Samsung UE40JU6400 that was delivered had a small crack in the bezel on the top corner, and the replacement came last night, once it was up and running I tried the codes in the Panasonic DMR-HW220 manual, and number 43 worked! Couldn't believe it, must have been me pressing the wrong buttons with me big hands on the first attempt. But it's working fine, sound/ AV/On-off/ channels the whole TV section is working
cheers anyway for the help
