Well, knowing you, you never usually avoid a gratuitous mention of Pasha's arse...so

Saturday night showed how much support Katie and Anita have - they have been tested before being at the bottom of the leaderboard and have always avoided the danceoff. They're well up there on polls and retweets. Being second top, Georgia must have polled lowest or second lowest in the votes - if anyone needs luck its Georgia (and to a lesser extent Kellie) on Saturday, not Katie and Anita.

Oh and I'd say Giovanni has the best bum on strictly

Jake & Janette, Lisa & Robin, Alex & James, Christine & Matthew and Natalie & Vincent were all underdogs who'd lasted to Final 5 without hitting the bottom 2, and Gavin & Katya and Kenny & Ola had survived for ages despite being one of the weakest couples there in their respective years. Still none of this was enough to stop THE CURSE OF THE BOTTOM.

Seriously though, Jay's not going to be in the bottom 2 and Georgia's not going to lose to any of the others in a dance-off even if she doesn't get a bounce-back. They're both safe as houses. Any of the other three couples could go though.

Does it make a difference if there are ties further up the board as well because that loads the dice in favour of the ones at the bottom who may be more popular with the voters doesn't it?

Any ties at all help couples towards the bottom because it pulls all the scores closer together making it easier to catch up with the public vote, although you can still get big drops without any ties at all (ie the series 1 Top 5 where Claire Sweeney went home from 2nd on the leaderboard).

I don't think you can compare different years like for like. Some years the voting is tight or unknown like last year...this year Anita, Jay and Katie have known strong fanbases. Curse of the bottom has visited them already and they have been pulled out from it - I presume their fans aren't going to stop voting the following week, particularly for the likes of Katie, as many want to get Anton to the final.

I agree Georgia would see Katie or Anita easily off in a DO situation....I just don't think that Katie or Anita will be in a DO though. Its far more likely to be Georgia vs Kellie and although I suspect Georgia may edge it, theres no way its anything near to being a certainty as Kellie always produces and Georgia has the cha cha and a difficult AT. Of course nothing is set in stone, and we don't know how many 'rebound' votes Georgia may get this week, but my guess is that its very likely Katie, Anita and Jay will escape the danceoff.

I was on here last week saying the same thing - that Georgia, Helen, and Kellie were the underdogs, the ones at risk even before they put a foot on the dancefloor, yet most people were saying Anita and Katie were the ones in danger and Georgia was a cert to the final. I was surprised at the 'surprise' at the results last night.

I think that one of the very popular contestant Anita or Katie will find themselves in the bottom 2. I am not so sure that Anita will be safe despite her huge public support if she is at the bottom of the leaderboard.

Out of the 2, I think that Katie has the best semi final dances left assuming she gets the charleston as Latin; if she gets the samba , then she is toast.

I think that Anita will do well with her salsa but not so well with her ballroom (foxtrot : notoriously difficult ) or VW ( I wonder if they are going to give her that because Jay already has it ). Anita will really struggle if she gets the foxtrot imo.

I think that Kellie will do well with her remaining dances......not so sure about the rumba but I think that she can pull it off. She can do BOTH styles well imo unlike Anita (stronger in the latin ) or Katiee (stronger in the ballroom ).

I dont know.......this is going to be really interesting.

Yes, but he then did a full-on swan dive from the top of the leaderboard to the bottom 2 during said quarter final, before being eliminated in the semis.
