Reading right through this long thread it's clear that you're not alone in your sentiments here, which really surprises me. Have people already forgotten her fabulous Charleston the other week .. quite the best Charleston of this series and anything but forgettable!
I will argue that Peter and Janette charleston was better and I wasn't even a fan of them. At least, I preferred Peter's Charleston and I like Georgia.

I agree entirely. My reasons for voting for who I vote for are no more valid than others for voting for who they vote for.

The OP did ask for opinions about Georgia and on the whole people have been honest, and respectful, about their reasons.
I won't disagree with that and I certainly haven't suggested otherwise. We all like to put our own opinions forward and why not

In fact, given that its a thread about my favourite, I'm delighted its being discussed in such a reasonable way

If they go out next week (THIS week, I suppose) then we'd be left with:

Jay - very popular, cute
Kellie - she escaped the DO this time and Kevin is quite well-liked
Katie - she has Anton whom MANY people like
Anita - doing well and has Gleb

Personally I love GG but I'm canny enough to realise that this is mostly because Joe Varney reminds me of my favourite student ever and I think he's a nice lad.

But if they go home then there's still plenty to enjoy. I can enjoy shouting at Anton and grumping at Aliona and Gleb's choreography. I'd love them to win. They won't. It'll be Jay. And I'm not going to lose any sleep over it. Nor get in any fights on DS.

Wise words.

Given the quality of dance, performance, improvement (as well as consistency) and great routines, I definitely feel she has earned and deserved a place in the final.

I do however have to remind myself its a Saturday night entertainment show

And if she goes out early, we'll get a decent exit interview

As for her not having a "storyline", I think TPTB have been trying to fit her in what was Pixie's slot last year: young girl, Disney themes, etc, apart from the Northern bit. I just wish they stopped doing that because not every contestant has to fit into a mould.

I know it's stressful, but I don't think you have any worries about Georgia reaching the final. I think the judges would save her over everyone bar Jay and I really don't see Jay in the dance off. She'll be fine, she's earned her place there. Plus Kellie's got a rumba (sorry Kellie fans)

Thanks for the confidence boost Alli F....though I'm still not sure.

I think Georgia would see Anita and Katie easily off in a DO regardless of what dance they have.

However, I can't see Anita, Jay or Katie being in the danceoff regardless of their dance or position on the leaderboard. I can't see their fans voting less this week than last.

I do see a Georgia and Kellie dance off and as much as I think Georgia would edge it, there is no certainty there at all. Kellie always performs and puts in a solid performance. It will depend what happens with their dance.

Sid *waves* I haven't crossed posts with you for ages ... and where is Ignazio maybe Katie's more sophisticated routines are do to with the fact that Anton is the King of Ballroom and Georgia's princessy routine on Saturday was because of the theme chosen for her and Giovanni ... I am a huge fan of Team GG and loved their samba, which had nothing to do with Giovanni's hips

I do hope you're right in saying she'll get a strong bounce back vote as I'd love to see them in the final
Hey you I spotted Ignazio at the start of the series but he seems to have vanished!

I think it's the way they make Georgia look - it's almost always princessy (QS, AS, Foxtrot) but then she's young and tiny and pretty so I suppose it's natural to dress her like that. I just prefer the more grown-up style that Helen and Katie exude in Ballroom, more my thing.

I do really like Giovanni though - especially since he stopped sweating off all his make-up and they stopped trying to make him a Vincent replacement!

Kellie has AS or AT & rumba Georgia will smash a cha cha. I expect Anita to be bottom again with judges & maybe Georgia to top it (might be Jay, but judges might decide to protect Georgia a bit). I don't think Katie has dances that suit her either, she's going up against Jay in the battle of the charlestons. She's 48, he's 25, not a good comparison to have, especially in the semi final. She'll seem laboured in comparison, he's great at lifts, Anton's not so much

At least fans of everyone in the semi final will get to see their celebs do all their dances sometimes the showdance can be better left to the imagination - Lisa Snowdon anyone?

True - and Georgia did say that was her goal...to get to do all the dances.

However, I'm greedy - and would love to see what Giovanni would think up for a showdsnce - and excited about seeing them both perform it. But preparing myself in case it doesn't happen

I don't think Lisa's routine can be classed as a showdance - I've seen more elegant dances from Anne Widdecombe!
Though I'm sure Gio would (will!) pull something spectacular out the bag!

It was certainly a show. Dance, not so much.

Personally I don't really care if they're got a personality or not, I just want to see great dancing and see if they can sell the dance they're doing.

I would hardly say some of the previous winners were overflowing with personality.
I think most were. Having a personality, interest in the world, humour and experience helps you to sell the dance. It helps you to act.

I think her lack of grown up interests and loves of Disney, for example doesn't resonate with most adults - who don't dream of being a cartoon character but can empathise with a love story or passion or witty or stylish piece like the hive etc much more easily

She throws herself into whatever character shes given....I wouldn't describe her rumba as cartoonish, childish or princessy...for me, it was one of the most sensual and atmospheric rumbas I've seen on SCD.

Oh dear. I couldn't recall Lisa Snowdon's show dance so I checked it out on Youtube and now I know why I couldn't remember it = It wasn't good.

I agree with this. I think Georgia could well find herself in the DO with Kellie this week but I don't see them putting Kellie through over Georgia unless something goes badly wrong.

I suppose I (and many people) remember it for all the wrong reasons

It just looked so awkward especially the lifts and the way she just kind of sat there waiting for him to pick her up or drag her across the floor.

I just hope that whoever gets to the final they make spectacular dance show dances not these one's where the woman's feet barely touch the ground from all the lifts and gymnastics.

I just hope I get to see a Team GG show dance.

Can't see Georgia not being in the final. Doubt she'll be in the dance off next week and even if she is, they will save her over anyone bar Jay - the one guy who is never going to be there.

I just wish they would give her something other than the little Princess Georgia routine. We've already seen her as a cute quickstepping cloud thing and as a puffy pink princess and now Belle - there's playing to somebody's strengths and there's getting them stuck in their comfort zone. One of the many reasons I loved her Charleston was that, for once, she embodied someone different. She's an actress, I reckon she's more then capable of doing something a bit more daring.

You thought her rumba was princessy? I thought it was sensual and smoking hot.

I thought her samba was sassy. In terms of being daring, I cant see any other celeb taking on that routine at that pace.

I didn't find her salsa or paso doble particularly princessy either.

I agree with you in that she can only deal with what shes been given and I think her storytelling and characterisation has been spot on.

Cheeky jive, romantic waltz. disco salsa, sensual rumba, cute quickstep, jazzy charleston, hot samba etc etc. Icant see her acting or emoting it any better than she has.

She can't help being petite, cute and pretty.

She's too sweet to win the series. Women don't vote for sweet girls, and it's no surprise to me that the bottom 2 this week were the 2 best-looking women on the show, with Jay, who's routine was bland compared with both of them, sailing through no worries. The Great British public, off their rockers as usual!
