Why is it Gleb's fault?

I just wanted to add that Gleb was a pro in three other countries' versions of Strictly. In the first one he was eliminated in the first week, in the second it was was week 2. Both of his partners were non dancers. In the third one which was in Russia earlier this year, he was runner up with Adelina Sotnikova, a young Olympic gold medal winner figure skater. Adelina was actually involved in choreographing of their routines because of her own experience of choreographing her skating routines.

This strikes me as relevant.
Adelina didn't do the choreo with Gleb, I don't know where you've got that from. She doesn't really have experience of choreographing her own programs either, most skaters her age don't. All her programs for the last 4 years have been done by Peter Tchernyshev, Elena Buianova & Tatiana Tarasova.

He talks a bit about working with her on DWTS here, and says that they focused a lot on technique. As for whether he did a good job of teaching her, she's done a rumba & samba inspired program for her SP this year, and everyone from fans to the top officials & coaches in the Russian Skating Federation have been remarking on how much her movement & interpretation has improved compared to her Olympic season

Just re-watched Ian and Denise's paso (Series 2) from a link on another thread. If you want to see how a Paso can be both charmingly understated and powerfully acted/danced, watch that.
To be fair though Ian and Denise's glorious paso was from a halcyon time where charmingly understated and powerfully acted/danced was the norm for the better dancers. I miss those days

This! Chelsee was robbed that year.
Totally robbed!

Denisewuzsorobbeditwasuntrue!!!!!!

And she's dancing to an utterly inappropriate song and it was in the days when the pros actually taught the celebrities the basics of a dance to properly understand it before moving onto learning the routines themselves.

Possibly my all time favourite celebrity contestant.

I loved Louisa and Vincent's Paso Doble, dramatic without being overblown.

We were both wrong, it was week 4 I knew I'd definitely watched more than 2 dances

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tV7NhHEC4BY

I brought up his qualifications as you mentioned something about his Russian celeb being involved in the choreography hence them finishing in second place, my point was that he has the choreo chops himself, agree that that doesn't necessarily translate into teaching ability though.
I did cheat in my later post by changing week 2 to 2nd to be eliminated.

I got it from an interview she gave saying the injury she was recovering from placed some restrictions on what she could do, so she would be focusing on the choreography with Gleb (paraphrasing here) and I saw a video clip of them watching one of her performances and then trying to recreate some moves. If that's not what happened I stand corrected. She would certainly be able to work with Gleb on lifts, etc. though because of how she uses her body weight in jumps when she skates. I didn't mean she was choreographing her own skating routines at her age and world standing.

I think Gleb is a fantastic dancer and choreographer, but I am not convinced he's a good teacher. It doesn't matter though because he's in the semis in his first series, so I will shut up now.

It's Gleb's fault because - from what the viewer gets to see on the show - he doesn't appear to have made any attempts to fix it. No Anita can't go overnight from having pigeon toes or sickled feet, but it can be made far less obvious.
Or he can produce choreography which lessons the visual impact of the fact her feet aren't always properly placed instead of (like the AT) highlighting it.

Her routine on Saturday was the first time I found what was happening with her feet more distracting that the showmanship of the routine itself.
Just something I thought on Saturday night....But did the style of shoes she was wearing highlight the problem more?

I suggest she wears flippers on Saturday night, just to be on the safe side.

On just one series, I think it is hard to tell whether a pro has helped a struggling celeb look better than she is, or whether the pro took a promising celeb and under performed. It is hard to tell whether the celeb would have been better technically with a different pro and retained the performance skills and still become a favourite through flashy choreography.

If you were to look at this series in isolation then it would easy to say that Aljaz took a promising celeb and never sorted out her latin problems and didn't hide her faults with clever choreography. Once you take his previous years into account he just looks like a good pro.
I'd argue that Aljaz's choreo for their Hallowe'en Mummy samba was brilliantly clever, using the Mummy theme to make Helen's inherent tendency to stiffness look part of the dance.

Point being, Aljaž worked with her ballet hips to minimise the impact, rather than ignore them & hope for the best.
