It's his streaming power. The singles sales market is dying a horrible death. One hundred streams count as one sale. I think that's quite fair.

Some silly chart stats don't have anything to do with "impact" etc lol Some of these statements are beyond ridiculous! He is really popular right now, so? Calm your titties stans.

Considering they don't like Bieber, some people on this thread are spending an awful lot of time talking about him. Must be jealous stans because Bieber is crushing his rivals in this era. Either that or they are massive music snobs who think all the Bieber fans should be listening to whatever unsuccessful artists they like. If other artists were good enough they'd be as successful as Bieber too.

A little joke (don't take it too seriously).

What do you call the Man with the World's smallest willie?

The charts are meaningless these days so I wouldn't pay it too much attention tbh.

Having 8 singles in the Top 40 chart is quite something for Bieber. But it does seem that he had to be really dependable on his own fan base all of the time on the streaming charts and on youtube to make him very popular to make that achievement.

Sadly; that sort of impact today doesn't equate to every recording artist on the planet. Not everyone get's an equal slice of that pie of glory no matter how hard they work. Many of these artist's have to slave their arses off to actually get a good record out there to promote it successfully to their fan base to make it popular. Whether that works or not is entirely up to their fanbase's opinion of the artist's work.

Bieber it seems is doing very well in a few genres of music namely Pop, RN'B and Hip Hop and that is good for him.

But what is the music industry is trying to give us now is more quantity rather than quality. And that can be quite a challenge for every one of those artists in each genre of music including Bieber. He is given an equal challenge to work hard in the industry and to be successful according to his fanbase. There is no way that Bieber is going to be successful among every age group imaginable. That task is just impossible for him to achieve it no matter how hard he has worked in his career to date. He has to do a lot convincing out there to get where he wants to be in the music world.

It won't be easy to do it if he had tried to do it all the same. It would be every artist's dream to achieve that feat. But every living artist today should at least be given a chance to do it no matter what.

and neither is it his streaming power...he has big selling singles on the download sales chart (#1, #3 and #8)

That article only has data up until 2013. Streaming services went mainstream last year. Sales are dying. A few years ago you'd need to top 70k-ish to score a number one album but you can do it with figures in the teens, lately.

Streaming gives him a massive edge. His numbers are very strong.

He shouldn't really have any place on the UK charts. It's diabolical.

Personally I think all the Bieber songs are making the chart boring as there is a lack of variety in the chart now. Really hope he doesn't get the Xmas no.1

Amongst teens in France he is about as popular as year old puke but he is very popular with the toddler and pre teen brigade though.

Bieber being Christmas #1, would kill the chart. Probably all these fat ugly women who can't get boyfriends who buy this.

Presumably you've researched these French demographics ? a cursory google shows he has 2 songs in the French charts, how have "the toddler and pre teen brigade" managed this level of buying power.

Looks like streaming is the best thing to happen to mediocre artists, like Bieber.

I'm surprised he's still churning out singles considering he's becoming less popular these days.

It seems Justin Bieber caught some people off guard. I got a bit of a shock when my older brother told me he downloaded Love Yourself, Sorry and What Do You Mean? off iTunes.

He says he heard the songs on the radio and really liked them but didn't know who the singer was so asked my niece, and she said it was Bieber and my brother just thought "oh...ok!!!". FTR, my older brother is 47 so Justin Bieber seems to have reached far beyond his teenybopper fanbase.

Gosh!!!
