Loved Simon's last year. Kristina really captured his personality perfectly.

Also loved Natalie's and Alesha's

I really didn't like the Louis Smith show dance - I know I am in the minority, but it did nothing for me.
I'll join you in the minority, I too really didn't like it.

That link has my quote in it! Alien, the musical. It really was sooooo bad. Muppets second. Chris parkers was genius - can't compete with these two.

Never. Gets. Old.

My favourites have been
Tom and Camilla
Jason and Kristina
James and Denise
Simon and Kristina

But before all those was Zoe and Ian
http://m.youtube.com/?#/watch?v=M3L-KyYZqSo
which I adore.

Feel sorry for
Erin and Colin
Brendan and Lisa
as their intentions were pure and based on misperceptions: Erin, that the judges would care how independent a dancer Colin had become. Brendan, that he had somehow transformed Lisa into the next Hanna Karttunen they had been told to emulate
Better to fail spectacularly than in safer boring mediocrity

Less keen on
Natalie and Scott (sorry, Nat) but concede end lift fab
Pasha and Chelsea
Harry and Aliona

Worst for me was Mark Wright last year. He was saved over Jake and produced that steaming turd of a showdance.

Ooh and anyone, anyone simulating Dirty Dancing - Brendan, Pamela, Louis in an earlier mamboesque round, Derek pretending it was a rumba in DWTS, Keith lemmon fannying around for charidee....you are ALL on my shit list.

Best for changing the seemingly unavoidable outcome in a final- Darren throwing Lilia around. Okay, you said show dance, I say acrobatics. Colin didn't just lose it, Darren won the public over by wow factor.

Worst for wasting two talents - boring Rachel & Vincent lift dance. Probably the greatest dancer never to have won Strictly, squandered.

Often I've flounced off by the final, so I've missed quite a few, including Tom's. The dolls were like some mad dream. But I kind of prefer the dreadful to the just disappointing. I seem to remember Dani and Vincent being disappointing, though I can't quite remember why, and Chelsee and Pasha, one of my favourite couples ever. I thought Louis's was beautiful, but it isn't one I'd want to see copied.

Thinking about it, maybe it's just that I don't really like the final, tbh. I like Strictly from about ten couples to about six, most years. Once it all gets about somebody winning I stop enjoying it half so much.

I'm with you there - I love the early stages best. Love watching the duffers and trying to spot which of them might improve and so on. I'm really turned off by ringers like Natalie Gumede who are superb from the get go. I'm much more engaged this year because Katie and Anita are still in the mix.

Weren't they already out at that stage? and was that the dance that Ian fell over in? Great music though, West Side Story if I am remembering the correct dance.

Bacofoil/Puppetgate definently the worst.

Puppet gate is mostly just gutting because Colin was amazing.

He wouldn't have won anyway as Darren had it in the bag but at the time I thought he would and I was just thinking at 15 secs in "OK cute intro, now put the puppets down"

"ok that's long enough now dance with eachother"

"that's nearly half the dance why are they still dancing with puppets"

"OMFG PUT THE PUPPETS DOWN!!!!"

"Oh crap it's finished"

Bacofoil was probably inspired by the guest performance a few weeks before of a couple who were world champion dancers (can't remember their names - Michael and Joanna maybe). The guest performance was very acrobatic and Lisa and Brendan tried to emulate it - and failed.

Puppetgate was a take on an old vaudeville act and Erin thought it would showcase Colin's wonderful dancing. Instead it was gobsmackingly awful.

The thing both showdances have in common is how jaw dropping they were.

Top three:
1 - Louis and Flavia, the one I have rewatched most times, stunning
2 - James and Denise - dance content, theatrics, gymnastics, great
3 - Natalie and Aljaz - most professional one I have ever seen

Bottom three
3 - Chelsee and Pasha - supported them all series, let down by this dance
2 - Colin and Erin - cost him the competition, dreadful
1 - Lisa and Brendan - hmmm haven't got words for the awfulness of this one

Really didn't like Louis and Flavia's.

I did like Tom and Camilla's and Kara and Artem's. Can't think of others at the moment.

I liked them both. Especially Louis/Flavia.

Also liked Natalie & Artem (who should have won)

As for the worst, another vote for Colin Jackson/Erin Boag (who also should have won)
