From an orthopaedic perspective, if she has always had a tendency toward pigeon toes - or metatarsus adductus, there's a reasonable prospect that 3-4 months of trying - as an adult - to correct it, would not be long enough.

It's a much easier thing to correct in childhood than it is in adulthood.

I don't see this as worse then some of the extreme personal insults that have been thrown to the other people such as Peter, Jay and Helen. Even silly nicknames like P'duh.

This was just an observation.

I thought she looked gutted, which endeared her even more to me.

EXACTLY.

Hardly anyone has insulted Anita as far as I can see, yes her dancing is criticised and what some of us perceive to be arrogance is being criticised, but Gleb has had far more personal insults thrown at him than Anita has. Peter has been labelled 'slimy', Helen 'vapid', Jamelia was a bitch etc.

When has she presumed to know better? I heard her acknowledge that her feet are slightly turned in and that it was something she (and Gleb) were working on.

Kellie was Titzilla for a while too... I agree that there have been contestants with worse thrown at them. Peter got most of it of course. Jay's come in for some.

(In complete fairness to the OP I really don't see her as partisan in her thinking. She might have a strong view that not everyone is going to agree with but it is an opinion rather than kneejerk fanwarz)

So did I. She looked completely crestfallen.

Whether the execution of the dance was good, bad or indifferent, performance wise she threw everything she'd got into that dance. You could never fault her on endeavour and commitment, and she deserves a great deal of credit for that.

Oh yes! That was awful

I do think that it's just a very small minority of posters who come up with these supposedly funny names then others seem to pick up on them perhaps without thinking about it too much. I find it ungracious.

When someone completely destroys you on national tv how are you supposed to act. Under the circumstances I thought she was very restrained. Don't start stupid threads because she wasnot kicked of SCD by being on the DO.

I don't think it's helen's fans. I was so expecting this after the seeing the results on the spoiler thread.

I don't think it's Helen fans either. They mostly seem like a pleasant bunch. On the whole.

I was a bit of a Helen fan myself! Her VW was the best dance of the series for me.

The only dance to really move me emotionally this series!

Had a little tear at Georgia in the dance-off too, that Foxtrot was elegance personified, for me.

Nobody 'destroyed' Anita - one judge told her that a poor dance performance was poor. Life went on.

Agreed too. I can't say Helen was my favourite but that dance was captivating and perfect

Precisely. Why from hero status all of a sudden she has gone to zero status because of Craig's comments.

Some people have no idea of empathy.

Unless I was watching a different programme, I think Anita accepts criticism very well.

For some reason now people are just being horrible because she is so resilient and some people just cant take that.

Indeed it did. Ergo, she simply accepted the comments and moved on, which is what makes this thread all the more baffling...

She didn't argue or carp about it. She knows it is an issue but it is not something which is easy to correct quickly, so there's no point in beating herself up about it.

Thank you Dervla, yes I don't partake in any kind of fan war, I'm really not that sort at all.
I don't partake in the name calling of other celebs, infact I'm more neutral and say things as I see them and not for any agenda at all.

No it isn't an insult. It's a layperson's/colloquial term for a slight mal-alignment of the bones of the feet or, in some cases, the root cause stems from the bones of the leg.

I noticed that with Jay's rumba. I have to respect an independent mind (even when I don't always agree!)

This isn't because she wasn't kicked out, I don't mind at all.
I sometimes liked Helen like her VW, but I really disliked her paso, so I didn't mind she went in all honesty.

Exactly, he told her her faults, flexed feet and pigeon toes, he also said she really performed it well. Hardly destroyed, Kate Garraway was destroyed, she seemed to laugh it off. When you are told you cannot even walk well and are laughed at for it, that's destroyed, Anita received a fair critique, which is what you expect when you sign up for such a show.
