So I've been reading on the internet about "Secret Menu's" at McDonald's. Apparently you can order different combinations of food which aren't listed in the official menu. They all have different codenames too like "Gangabang" or "Land, air and sea" burger.

http://hackthemenu.com/mcdonalds/secret-menu/

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-28990400

I'm wondering, would the staff be likely to know what the names of the orders on the Secret Menu are, or would they likely just give me a confused look or something? Would I'd be better just saying the contents of the order instead?

Has anyone here on DS actually successfully ordered something off the McDonald's Secret Menu?

Also what is the BIGGEST drink I can order at Mc'd's?

Thanks.

In our local McD if you wear a leather apron, have one trouser leg rolled up and give the Manager a special handshake he releases a secret door in the wall and when you go inside The Secret Menu is on display in a private room.
I'm not allowed to say any more.

Last time I walked in and asked for a McGangbang I was quietly led away round the back. That's about all I can remember until I woke up covered in special sauce and sesame seeds.

It sounds as if it's purely and simply a publicity stunt invented by an advertising agency.

Indeed - why have a secret menu that the staff would have to know and receive training on, but not tell the public so they can actually order it?
Though I suspect you can order 'off piste' with the price charged being made up of the items used eg bun, burger, chicken fillet.

No there isn't one, can you imagine trying to teach 18 year olds what the secret menu is just incase someone happens to order something?

That's why it's a secret menu. So you lot can keep talking nonsense about it. It doesn't end up on the internet.

You are the same person that wrote this

"I'm fairly sure it is steak that Subway are putting on there. Steak comes in all sorts of forms from stewing steak and frying steak to best cuts. Clearly Subway steak isn't top quality, but it's still 'proper' steak. "

Why should we belive anything you say when you are just guessing obviously. An opinion is one thing but to state things as facts when you just do not know not makes you look stupid and arrogant.

No worries, everyone makes mistakes.

It is just that if someone sets themselves up as the disparager of urban miconceptions in the F&D forum, as you have done, you must live by the same rules and not post opinions as facts, thats all.

Dealt with now, that's all I wanted to say.

This is a thread about McDonalds in Food and Drink not a thread about IS or some other serious topic.
Get some perspective.

I haven't set myself up as anything.

Do you realise how pathetic it is to post a quote I made on a completely different thread just to make yourself look smug?

Dealt with now.

Secret menus are widespread, plenty of places have items not on the publicised menu.

Whether Mcdonalds do, I would have my doubts though, its a concept that tends to me more associated with independents.
