Same sex partner week
Would anyone like to see this?
On some international versions of the show they have a week where everyone swaps partner for a week. But they could do it where they swap and have same sex partners. |

No, it's ridiculous. If they wanted to gay men or women as a couple, fine, but swapping is just plain silly.

In SCD they already sort of do this but not in hold (and not technically as partners) - in some of the professional dances and some of the themed dances: men and women dancing in male / female troupes. |

That... would not work with most dances. Paso, Tango, Jive (because you can do a decent amount outside of hold) and Charleston are feasible. Anything else would be dreadful. Anyway, it's not something I'm interested in seeing.

Has Ian Waite said on ITT last week. Who would lead? I'm sure 2 men dancing together wouldn't necessarily want to be in the traditionally female role. I don't have any objections to it but don't know how it would work.

Aliona and Jay are going to be exhausted
![]() ![]() There is only any value in this if the celeb changes role (leads instead of follows, or vice versa). Interesting but not something I am dying to see. |

How about a "only use one leg" week.
Or a "Dance blindfolded" week. Or a "Dance with your favourite sandwich" week. Or a "Dance in a thong-a-thon" week. I could go on, but I worry that someone from the production team might read this and take up one of the ideas. |

Definitely not. I'm all for equality but ballroom dancing is about a man and a woman dancing together. Regardless of their sexual orientation.

I don't think having same sex partners would work because both people in the couple would want to lead as others have said.
I don't mind the idea of a partner swap for a week (but it would have to be done earlier in the series when there are more contestants) or what they do or did on Dancing with the Stars in America where for one week another pro joins a remaining couple and then the celeb has to dance with both. I've seen a few video's on Youtube and some of them looked quite good, so I would mind those ideas, but it's a no for the same sex partners idea. |

Might as well. The ballroom theme is becoming more and more tenuous each year, so why not swop partners? I suggest a swing dance and call it swingers week. While we are at it we might as well have dancing with dogs; like Pudsey or assortd talented pets. Brendan would have the advantage here having had done a dog training show, its an excuse to bring Camilla Dallerup back too. Then of course we could have a troupe dance week with hip hop or contemporary like Legs and Co or Seaside Special.

Swap partners for a week? Yes. It's always interesting when they do that on DWTS to see how the celebs respond to coaching from a different pro partner. How often have we said that we wish Celeb X could be paired with Pro Y instead of Pro Z? This is a chance to see that.
Same sex partners for one week? No. It would be more of a gimmick than anything else. If a celeb were to have a same sex pro partner for the whole series, that would be one thing (although I still think it would become more about the hype than about the partnership and the dancing) but for everyone to have a same sex partner for one week just for the sake of it? It would be presented as a total gimmick. And what if any of the celebs or pros are uncomfortable with it? They've come on the series expecting a partner of the opposite sex and then suddenly, mid-series, this gets thrown at them? It's hard enough for the celebs to adjust to a different partner for one week without adding that element into the mix as well. |

I've said a few times on here before that I'm all for a partner switch week but I don't think same sex partners would work. Maybe as a CIN/Comic Relief special thouh
