Which pro's choreography have you loved in Ballroom? And Which pro for Latin? It can be male or female. Then give an example of choreography you love from this pro.

For me - my favourite pro for ballroom is Brendan Cole. His dances are always so stunning. Some of my favourites being Lisa, Viennese Waltz, Kellie's Viennese Waltz, Sophie's tango and quickstep (and foxtrot and AS).

For Latin I absolutely loved Vincent Simone and Flavia's choreography. Matt Di Angelo's salsa was incredible and Rachel's rumba

What about you guys?

Lilia Kopylova

brilliant latin and ballroom choreographer

was lovely to see her on ITT last night

EDIT: sorry, I am supposed to provide examples

her samba with Aled Jones on the Christmas Special immediately springs to mind - to Walking In The Air - very clever

any of her ballroom dances with Darren Gough and their showdance is still my favourite

her American Smooth with Matt Dawson was amazing as was her salsa

her AT with Don Warrington was fabulous

For consistency and variety, I vote for Vincent although he never really had a complete duffer (other than his first week Stephanie Beecham exit). For making very little go a long way, I think Kristina has done well over several series.

Vincent & Flavia had some great choreography over the years.

Standout routines for me...

Flavia & Matt DA
American Smooth (often forgotten but I totally love this)
Ballroom Tango
Waltz
Salsa (co-choreographed)

Flavia & Louis
Halloween Tango
Fusion
Showdance

Vincent & Rachael
Rumba
Ballroom Tango
Argentine Tango

Obviously Erin, Flavia, Vincent, Brendan etc, but I want to bang the drum for Trent Whiddon.

I know one series isn't enough to go on, and having a talented dancer in Pixie skews any assessment somewhat, but I loved Trent's choreography. For me he managed to combine the traditional with the entertaining really well. And somehow he managed to be both classy and bonkers. He could also handle themeing in a way that KFG just misses.

I think maybe the best example of his lovely choreography is their Foxtrot- I defy even the FT-haters to find this one boring.

And their Samba was, for me, the turning point from finding Pixie a bit of a bot to being charmingly off the wall- so much charisma in the dance and plenty of actual Samba. Which is unusual.

I mourn his absence.

ETA- he also covers so much floor!

Flavia cavace. Any style of dance. So creative and just amazing. She still remains my favorite pro EVER. She is just so talented.
Vincent was a great choreographer as well; equally good in both disciplines.
Aliona any style of dance. Her choreography is exciting, a bit out of the box sometimes, refreshing and most importantly true to the style of dance for the most part. . She's a very, very good choreographer.
Kristina is very underrated as a choreographer imo. Imo out of all the remaining female pros left Aliona and Kristina are the best.
Trent was like the female Aliona. Exciting choreography but still true to the style of dance; I always looked forward to his routines. ..a lot of them ( VW, foxtrot. ....) were unlike anything I've seen on strictly. ..I wished he stayed .
Natalie : best in ballroom. I don't rate her choreography in the Latin although they've been some few exceptions ( Scott's jive )

Best choreographer in ballroom : Aljaz, Brendan

Best all rounder ( latin, ballroom) male pro, Pasha imo.

That Foxtrot is literally the only one I have ever willingly rewatched. Their VW was nuts too but also lovely I really liked Trent- thought he provided a nice contrast to the other male pros.

Another vote for Trent. Among others, of course.

Despite him not liking the commuting and her having such a packed schedule she learned the smooth in a day, and their rapport not being the warmest as a result, I did think Brendan choreographed some lovely routines for Sunetra particularly AS, Viennese and waltz.

Kristina is fabulous. Her QS with Jason, her waltz with Daniel, her showdance with Simon, she is very good at what she does. Whilst from time to time she has resorted to dancing round her partner she does not do it as much as Ola, and her choreo consists of more than knee slides. Miaow.

From the classic two above to the more 'showy' : Artem, Aliona and Gleb have done some lovely artistic routines. I like them but I watch DWTS so they still seem understated in comparison. (Loved Val's classic choreo for Rumer: foxtrot, rumba, Viennese, paso - just beautiful and Derek and Mark are more showy but very creative/original).

I love Vincent and apart from show dances, I think he excels in any dance with his choreography. Even Danni Harmer had some great dances by Vincent. He could have a them, but still do an actual dance to it too, like their Wizard of Oz dance.

Brendan, he actually is much better at classic ballroom dance choero then Anton. He does a pure dance which I really enjoy, especially as someone said, some of Sunetra's was really beautiful.

Another one, Anya, she did some stand out dances with Patrick and I think she is sorely missed from the show in my opinion.

I did used to see a bit of Artem's but at the same time he would also frustrate me on occasion.

Artem, Natalie, Gleb. Trent, I think, did some great routines for Pixie.

I love that Foxtrot, but the whole thing is damaged by the audience clapping on the 1&3, rather than the 2&4. It makes the performance seem flatter than it was.

Favourite male pro for both Ballroom and Latin would be Matt.
Favourite male pro for Ballroom would be Ian or Anton.
Favourite male pro for Latin would be Vincent or James.
Favourite male pro for DWTS showy routines would be Artem and now Gleb.

Favourite female pro for Ballroom and Latin would be Kristina or Katya.
Favourite female pro for Ballroom would be Karen Hardy.
Favourite female pro for Latin would be Flavia.
Favourite female pro for DWTS showy routines would be Aliona.

But my favourite female pro is Natalie and my favourite male pro is James. I love watching them dance.

Another vote for Vincent and Flavia. I also love Gleb's exciting and inventive choreography, even though the traditionalists may disapprove at times.

OMG you're right! And now I can't un-hear it
I shall try to recalibrate by watching some of Brian Fortuna's choreography...

Gleb's choreography has been brilliant this year. I loved Flavia's as well. Can't be bothered with the same old same old.

Artem is still my all time favourite. I think his ability to hear the music and do what it asks for is unmatched.
Trent was amazing too, such a pity he's not back. I find re-watching his routines with Pixie hard though, still upsets me that they were booted off the show so early.
And last but not least, Natalie. I wish she would get another contender, loved the routines she choreographed for Scott and Ricky.

Ian Waite - too numerous to mention but his work with Jade Johnson is amongst my favourites.

Matthew Cutler - I was never a big fan of the blonde one but he did some great routines with Alesha, fab cha cha cha, and I liked his work with Christine Bleakley.

Vincent Simone - he and Flavia were like a merman and mermaid so fluid were there movement but his choreography had the edge. His AT with Rachel Stevens, his QS with Natalie Cassidy and his Scooby Doo cha cha cha with Dani Harmer plus their QS/charleston fusion.

Anya Garnis - her VW with Patrick Robinson made me cry, though admittedly that's performance as well as choreography. Their cha cha cha to Mercy, fab samba to Copacabana and their AS are stand outs.

Trent Whiddon - oh how i miss thee! Everything he did with Pixie was sublime. Favourites are Halloween tango, foxtrot and their maligned cha cha cha.

Natalie Lowe - worked her magic with Michael Vaughan, their jive remains sublime . Brilliant jives with Ricky and Scott Maslen too. Like her tango dances as well.

One final mention for Artem - another who I didn't care for much but his rumba/waltz/AS for Natalie Gumede, rumba/salsa for Kara, foxtrot/charleston/and Swan Lake ballroom number (forget which one) for Holly are my favs.

I'll throw in a vote for Aliona too. I know she's been somewhat inconsistent in the past (though I think her Quickstep and VW with Harry Judd are the best versions of those dances on Strictly, so she can definitely do traditional), but she's been magnificent this series IMO. The tango, paso, rumba, salsa etc were all great pieces of choreography and the jive was an absolute masterpiece that used the music and theme to perfection.

I think Kristina might be my favourite choreographer across the whole duffer-ringer spectrum, she always seems to pitch it right.

Aliona.

She always was very capable of doing by the book choreography - it's not going to keep Strictly on the TV though.
She is also very good at non-standard choreography, which is more a matter of taste - but I like almost all of it.

I also like
Vincent
Lilia
Matthew Cutler
Flavia
