I'm starting to feel sorry for Jay... There is something bitchy about Aliona. I reckon she beats him when he doesn't get the dance right

Funny, but I get the feeling that all the responders to my post who claim to be in the upper age end of things (and claim to love Jay and vote for him every week), are quite possibly females who either want to mother him or who would love to have him as a son-in-law!
Good luck to ALL the remaining contestants I say!! But people are always keen to come up with a theory. Usually to fit a pre-conceived idea instead of Grounded Theory .You seem to be right about the gender bias though- I don't know any men who vote. ETA: full disclosure; I was voting for GG/Glita/Jay (with the odd sympathy vote for "in danger" folk) but I've now narrowed it down to Jay and I've never liked Boy Bands or watched The X-Factor, The Voice or Britain's Got Talent. Just the Great British Sewing Bee. I'm a sucker for Claud... |

I'm in my forties, over the series I've voted for: Jeremy, Carole, Anita, Jamelia, Helen, Georgia, Kellie and Jay, I may have voted for Katie too, can't quite remember. I've not had one favourite, even now I would prefer for either Jay or Georgia to win, I actually would be quite happy to see Kellie win too, she's grown on me over the last couple of weeks. I'm not sure why one dancer appeals to me more than the others but of those three, they work hard, good dancers, I like their personalities, they seem quite humble and the partnerships work well for me.

Good luck to ALL the remaining contestants I say!! 40s) no children through choice and I certainly don't want one now ![]() Vote for Jay because I love his dancing, I love his partnership with Aliona, he's a funny, intelligent lad (who reads, will always love someone who reads for pleasure) and generally just like him. I vote for him, but if not him to win, then Georgia, and I don't want her as a daughter either. |

I am not sure the demographic for Strictly is young. I teach 16-19 year olds and none of them watch it, indeed they looked at me as if I was an alien when I said I did! Having said that some did say their mothers/grandmothers watched it.

I am 78, and had never heard of The Wanted or Jay before this series.
From the very first show Jay charmed me with his modesty, humour, likeable manner and personality, and of course his wonderful dancing. I vote for him every week, and so does everyone that I know, and I an convinced that he will lift the Glitter Ball. ![]() I go round there every Sat for my tea, we sit and watch SCD and we both root for Jay to do well and obviously win,but we of course would love to see one of the others if not, I don't understand why people on this forum think that we are some kind of obsessive Jay lovers and are such and such age as judging by this thread fans of Jay are nothing of the sort,(Love reading your posts daily Walter Neff they brighten up my day )

Good luck to ALL the remaining contestants I say!! Can't his women fans just enjoy watching him dance without any emotional attachment towards him

I am 60 (as of 7th of this month) and also love Jay's dancing. I have been a dancer for 50 years and really appreciate how technically good he is. On top of that he is unassuming, funny and just seems to enjoy being there. He always praises the other dancers, never makes excuses when he goes wrong (even when on the day he did the foxtrot his Grandfather had just died) and seems to really work hard in training. It is a shame that others see our support of Jay as infatuation or the like. We just enjoy great dancing.

Why is important to you to put a label on the responders to your OP that want Jay to win?

I'm the wrong side of 40, had never heard of The Wanted or Jay, and it wan't until THAT JIVE that I actually started really noticing him. Since then I've been rooting for him along with Anita.
