Georgia has been screwed with the Cha Cha and the song choice. Even if she performs it well, it is never a wow dance.

Prediction: After Georgia's Cha cha Len will say "If you don't survive this week or get into the final i'll pickle my walnuts".

Team GG have not disappointed yet and I doubt they will start now. Georgia is a fab little dancer and I'm certain Giovanni will choreograph a fabulous routine. Could have had a better song choice...but it will be great regardless..

With a late change to the dance, GG were bound to get a pre-used song.

She is and I think a cha cha cha will really suit her. It's a pity about the song choice, I agree. I hope she's well as she suffered the disappointment of being bottom two last week and it's hard to bounce back if the vitality is being sapped.

What do you think of Giovanni as a choreographer Jennifer? I know you are a standard ballroom dancer so you can comment on the ballroom numbers he's created for Georgia.

As far as SCD is concerned, I think he has choreographed some fabulous routines to suit Georgia and show her strengths, they have all suited the music and the themes they have been lumbered with. I loved their so simple Foxtrot - but thats how a Foxtrot should be choreographed. No razzmatazz, just smooth elegant dancing, linear swing. I hate it when some of the Pro's ( to impress viewers) put in awful jerky movements - the latin pro's have a tendency to do this, when it should flow like a river, gently.
I don't actually like his style of ballroom dancing and I don't think his standard is overly good, but I think for a latin guy, he does OK. Whether he has assistance from someone such as Jo Clifton for ballroom ( perhaps to help Georgia as well as choreo) who knows, but I have enjoyed them to date.

I think 'I will survive' is a pretty good choice. I know its probably just an excuse to make lots of puns based around the dance-off, but its a song everyone knows and loves to sing along to, so will probably be a real crowd pleaser. Plus the latin quite often includes disco moves on this show now anyway. It seems a lot better than having a generic cheesy pop song that people don't really know.

Thanks for your view. Interesting comments on Giovanni and also that latin specialists on SCD insert jerky movements. What did you think of Aliona's foxtrot for Jay? I think Aliona might have been a 10-dance specialist but I could be wrong.

I think that team GG have worked on keeping the length in Georgia's neck even though her shoulder creep still appears. As someone of a similar height to her I identify with these as issues and can imagine them besetting me were I to dance in a ballroom hold.

It's more of a diva/torch song though and that's not in tune with a cha cha cha. Also it will be her second disco number.

whilst I dont love the song there is a version ok for cha - the french version of the show used it but think they used actual track and not the band https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_tb28qjj1xI

One of the girls will be thrown to the wolves this week, and Georgia is in real trouble with that draw the week after being in the dance-off so late in the game.

However, there's also Anita (bottom of the leaderboard the last two weeks), Katie (the worst on average by a distance) and Kellie (also not popular and doing a Rumba)... it is very difficult to tell which of them will go.

There hasn't been a cha cha since week 3 - Katie, Ainsley and Daniel

Not commenting on how it was danced ( Jay/Aliona), but the routine when it was in hold, was very nice with readable timing and authentic Foxtrot groups. I never like it when they break hold, but many do on the show. There should be no gimmicks or flashiness in Foxtrot. In competitive Foxtrot the choreo should come from the side to the centre and back out to the side, back into the centre, out to the side etc. When I had some lessons with the current British Pro Champions, they said it should flow like a river, in and out, smoothly gliding around the floor. A very good description I think. Quick jerky movements are out of place in this dance.

When there is a height difference, the man must lower his centre of gravity to match or nearly match the lady. Perferably the dancers are of the same or similar height. There should be no tension in the shoulders and dancers will use their very strong back muscles to hold their backs up to the man, the shoulders are just rolled down and held This is SO much harder than it sounds. This has to kept throughout each dance for a long time. It is important to keep the length in the neck, there is always a feeling of strength coming up through a strong spine, through the neck and out through the top of your head.Stretch, stretch and more stretch.

Thanks Jennifer. I know the bib to be very hard. I'm incline to sink into my waist so I would struggle with keeping long and stretching all the time whilst dancing and keeping body contact.

You are pulling up , stretched upwards from the waist area but then from hips downwards, everything is pressed firmly downwards to the floor. Much foot pressure is needed into the floor - a feeling of opposition always. Dancers are always very grounded, very balanced, pressing into the floor, whilst maintaining the stretched upper body that will give the visual effect of lightness, and gracefulness as they glide across the floor. Lower body working incredibly hard. People often think of ballroom and being light and " airy fairy" but it is far from.

If Katie and Anton nail the Waltz to that music, they are in the final, simple as that.

Anita has not had the hardest dances - they are all hard, all present different set of challenges to the celebs. Problem is that she doesn't execute them as well as the others mostly.

I really like this version, it works very well in my opinion.
Hope Georgia is feeling better, hard dance for a lady to master and dance well.
