Oh well, as i said i didn't look at the link but the description of the trick is somewhat related.

Surely the RAM gets cleared out too after a HR?

On my missus iPhone it popped up on screen saying new update available install now or remind me later. It doesn't come up on my iPhone or iPad can it be switched off if so how do you switch it on to remind me and let me know

As far as i know there are no settings to be notified upon a release of a new ipsw.

Incidentally it didn't do it when I update the s/w via the handset yesterday, I happened to go into SETTINGS>GENERAL>ABOUT yesterday for some reason and it popped up on the screen to be downloaded.

Have you already updated? If so then you won't see it.

So are you just waiting for the notification then? You know it's there so why not just do the update?
It's very rare I get the notification myself as I usually see there's a new update on forums beforehand.

Not part of 9.2 - just a similar time. My 3 iPhone 6 updated to 23.1 tonight - and not when I upgraded on Tuesday.

23.1 adds 4G Voice on the 3 Network - among any other changes!

Same here, dont often see it because i see theres an IOS update on twitter or something, so then i go into settings and search for the update manually,

After i read this i went to my iphone 6S (updated to 9.2 already) and it was still on 23, so i tapped on where it says 23 a few times then i got a pop up message telling me to install 23.1. I didnt know you could initiate the download, just found something new there?

By the way what is 4G voice? thought we had HD voice, isnt it the same thing, improved sound quality?

Anyone else noticed the battery life seem to be improved slightly? My iPhone 6S was good on 9.1, but 9.2 seem to last abit longer especially when using the phone

3 have some 4G at 800MHz. If I understand it their idea is that using it for voice calls will improve the fact that - being at 2100MHz normally - they were less good inside buildings than some other networks!

Not me, in fact I feel my battery life has gone to the dogs since the update

I've noticed the same, both on iPhone and iPad.

Whatever they did to Apple Music/iCloud Music in the iOS 9.2 update made my iPhone go on a suicidal syncing mission where it attempted to sync my entire iCloud music library non-stop, it relentlessly downloaded track by track without notifying me (We're talking tens of thousands of songs). The phone was super hot and the battery was draining faster than ever, I couldn't figure out why until I opened up Apple Music and saw it was downloading tracks. Pushing cancel made no difference it just continued downloading.

My 64GB 6S Plus was down to 800mb from the 25GB free I started with. God knows why it was downloading my iCloud Music library, the whole reason it's in the cloud is so I can stream it without having it on my device.

Luckily, disabling Apple Music and iCloud Music entirely and then re-enabling them made it stop and gave me all my space back. Still not happy though, never had anything like this occur on 9.1.

I was ready to blame the VoLTE update for the phone getting hot and the battery draining, but nope it was Apple's fault.

My battery has only 10% power left on it on my iPhone 5 and that's after only 9 hours after recharging the iPhone after the latest software upgrade and hardly using the iPhone on Saturday.

Probably not a completely valid example, a knackered battery is just as likely in something as old as an iPhone 5.
