Foxtrot Week was certainly the first time I got my voting finger out this series and I zoomed a load of votes Jay's way - definite panic factor. As is well documented (not least via the General Election result this year) polling doesn't necessarily translate into votes, especially when some of these polls allow for multi-voting. There's little doubt Jay is the favourite by some distance on the polls but, whether that puts him on top of the public vote each or most weeks is unknown. Since Foxtrot Week he's been fairly high on the leader board.

I would have thought that Anita's "in danger" quotient very much depends on the size of her core vote. Sympathy votes change week by week - I would guess that Georgia will enjoy the bounceback this weekend and, if Anita gets another mauling by the judges, she might have to share that sympathy vote with G and G. If her core vote is big, she'll probably be ok; if not, who knows - the popularity of the others comes more into play.

This is where I am happy to be an Anita Fan. We just want her in the final and if she loses to anyone just based on public vote, so be it.

I personally think Katie and Anton must be leading in public vote. I think both of them have a big fan base. If no Anita in the final, I was going to vote for Jay. Might have to rethink, I am not of fan these under hand stuff.

And no fan of Jay I know of is even considering voting tactically It was just an observation by kiyay, not a fact

Jay has been tested twice in the bottom half and bottom 3 of the leaderboard and Georgia hasn't.

I predicted she could be in danger if not in the top 2 last week. At QF stage Georgia was the only dancer who's support hadn't been tested.

Well, personally I voted for Jay and Helen. Now it's all votes to Jay. I want to see him in the final more than I want any of the others out of it.

Trying to get clever with the voting has a habit of backfiring. Anyone who has the support to be in the final has the right to be there.

I have no intention of voting tactically.

The only votes I've placed other than for Jay have been for Jamelia, and not because I wanted Peter out, but because I thought Jamelia deserved them (Charleston and QS weeks)

I don't know why? She doesn't really do well in any polls, she's always in or around the middle, she doesn't have many YouTube watches, Facebook likes, Twitter buzz. She doesn't really do well in any of the places where you could be able to measure support.

I know there is a lot of good will towards Anton this year and so maybe some are voting to get him to the final but if I had to guess, I'd say she's probably 3rd behind Jay and Anita.

This tactic nearly always backfires. This is not a time to be splitting your vote. Go for your favourite and let the best wo/man win. I bet they're all just thrilled to get this far and to have learnt an amazing new skill. They all seem such lovely people they are going to be delighted for the winner whoever they are, and I intend to follow their example.

If you just want to see him in the final not a problem, if you want to see him lift the trophy too tactical voting at this stage could be an option as even if he's topping the public vote and polls at the minute historically when it comes to the final itself more people tune in who aren't necessarily fans of anyone and vote based on the night and also there could be an anti-jay vote which could backfire against him ie with people voting for the runner up and if Anita's in probably her if she is polling second in public votes at the minute, I don't really expect any of this to happen but it's a possibility depending on how fanatical some of Jay's fans are.

At the risk of sounding inflammatory, anyone who "votes tactically" on an entertainment show needs to have a word with themselves.

I think Anita will be alright and make it to the final, unless she does land in the dance off against a superior dancer. However her votes and popularity seem to have peaked at just the right time to avoid this. So another showstopper crowd-pleasing dance with perhaps a Gleb special will do it.

Ironically her general recognition and popularity is gaining whilst my personal admiration for her is somewhat fading. It's not that I don't think that she's been good or performed well, I still do and I still think she and Gleb are worth watching and have been good for Strictly, I just think that others deserve the final more.

But then I've never been a good barometer of public taste.

I see absolutely no point or value in tactical voting in any situation really, let alone in a nice simple lighthearted thing like SCD. Vote for whom you want to win, not who might prevent X from winning, or might get Y in the DO to save Z. It's all about simple numbers - an arithmetical game not an algebraic one - get the formula wrong and you're stuffed!

It's difficult to have an anti-Jay vote when there are three others left. If it was like Alesha's year, Alesha v Matt d'A, that might work with only two in the final, but it's not going to work with 4.

Jay doesn't need tactical voting imo, his dancing is good enough to stand on its own. He's not only winning polls, he's smashing them, even in polls like DS where you can only vote once. His views on YouTube are so much higher than everyone else's week on week and if he doesn't win, shrug, it's not the end of the world, the public just decided (wrongly 😜 ) that someone else was more popular

I hope not, as imo she has done her best every week, and gave 100% to all her dances, but then so has Kellie...

And its all just specualtion since we don't know the voting statistics. Yes we know Georgia must have been near/or at the bottom last week. But that's all!! For all we know Jay is near the bottom and Anita is absolutely rocking it every week. Its just pointless all this specualting and makes my brain hurt.

Anita needs to dance well, both dramatically and technically to not be in trouble. Three bad weeks in a row and she shouldn't be in the final. Doesn't mean she won't be as at the end of the day relies on votes. If you like her vote for her!!

Why ? It could very well be Jay. He hasn't closed the show since week 3 I think.
Anita closed the show on the first show in week 1.

But they all have, surely. It's not just Anita (or Kellie) who have given their all. Some are less obvious about it - doesn't mean they're not trying just as hard.

And on the up side, we get years of wuzzrobbed out of it

I really don't mind who wins this year, they've all done brilliantly, my final four by preference though would be Jay, Georgia, Anita, Katie mainly for the Anton factor but I like Katie too and love the dresses they put her in each week.

Yep and the board usually sorts itself out after a while. Now Abbey is considered an unworthy winner by many & that Natalie was a far better dancer. So I'll just flounce around muttering about "best jive ever"

I agree with this. I think the judges have been a bit harsh on her this past couple of weeks.
