Totally disagree with you as well, Jill's Jive the second time round wasn't as good.

No it wasn't as good, but nobody cared, because it was a performance that people loved, and it still got 40.

Ssshhh fello Jay fans; dont put the kiss of death on it! If they dont do the jive again, its going to be very disappointing. The music choice and the way they naturally flowed into each sequence was amazing. I bet plenty others have watched it on You Tube time and time again. Spellbinding stuff

BIB Jay fan here but I am extremely disappointed that I wont see it again and like I said in my previous post, so many couples who had WOW dances repeated their dances in the finals and it did had the same impact or was even better the 2nd time around so I dont know, I dont get it .

Would you think it was a cop out if they were choosing the Quickstep.

I'm a bit baffled as to why not choosing the easiest crowd pleasing option is being so frowned upon.

People think they've had it won since week 3 and the first suggestion they may not do it and actually choose a dance they messed up originally and people are calling it a cop out...really?

It's impossible to fathom out the reasoning of many a comment on DS I've found over the years

I would call that jive far from easy and more than just a crowd pleaser!

Even the audience was chanting that they should do their jive after he said he wouldn't apparently. They must be aware it's the one dance everyone wants to see again. They have the judge's choice to show their improvement. And I don't know many people who are yearning to see that quickstep repeated.

She's not saying the routine was easy but that it's an easy crowd pleaser.

Well as did I, and I was sat there appreciating her quickstep and her samba, both of which I still love. If she'd said "actually I'd rather do my Some Girls Jive with the ratty weave again to get it right this time" instead I wouldn't have been terribly impressed.

Only for those unable to accept that other people might have a different opinion to themselves, and that the different opinion might be perfectly valid.

All of his other dances have been boring or shoddy, so I'm quite sure he isn't a great dancer.

I think it is completely brainless not to do the jive again. So brainless that I am really surprised that TPTB aren't pulling their hair out at the thought of having the final without the iconic dance of the season and one of the most talked about dances in years.

But if she'd pulled off a cracking routine you would have been. It's the potential for improvement that I'm interested in seeing.

It has nothing to do with a different opinion, I don't understand how choosing to do something other than an easy crowd pleaser can be considered a cop out.

Not in the slightest, the Jive is an easy crowd pleaser so Lisa was wondering why people were thinking it was a cop out for Jay and Aliona to pick another routine which isn't as obvious.

They probably are. That's why they snipped that revelation out of the broadcast version tonight to buy themselves some more time. As couples usually start training on Monday, they don't have much time to change his mind though.

I am waiting for it to be confirmed to have a proper rant about it . They are making a huge mistake IMO. I am sorry but this is just silly. No wonder TPTB carefully edited that mention on tonight's results show. SMH.

A Jay is within reach of the glitter ball, as are the other 3, damn right he should dance it again. Why should he make hard work of it for fear of being told its an easy option?

Didn't he already show ample improvement in quickstep in the "athon" though? Now if he could improve on that jive, now *that* would be an achievement.

Maybe the guy just isn't that fussed about winning and he's gonna do whatever he wants to do regardless.

Because his reason for not wanting to do it is he wants to save that as a memory (paraphrasing the mole). Not because they think it's a crowd pleaser, too easy to win votes, or they need to show improvement. His reason implies he thinks the second time it won't be as iconic. He's not willing to take the risk to find out.

Jive-gate.

There's no way that jive won't be reprised unless there is some legal reason why it can't be (to do with the film/music licensing). It is far and away the best dance Jay has done, the only characterful one in my opinion. The QS, on the other hand, was not just bogged up on the night but a poor choreography with all that silly time wasting glad handing at the beginning and no finesse. Easily one of Aliona's worse efforts this year. It would be madness to repeat that instead of the dance everyone is looking forward to.

Well they could easily fix it by making it the judges choice.

Yes this is what I meant worded badly

Easiest option for making the voters happy! Not easiest dance obviously
