REPLACEMENT PA SPEAKERS - H E L P ! please
Hi
I have a Peavey PA Sytem, pair of EUROSYS 3.0 cabs powered by PEAVEY XM6 mixer amp. which has been fine for a number of years but recently not too good quality. Recently, a friend brought his (random 500w pair) of speakers which I hooked up and they were so bright and oozed quality, it just made me think my speakers were the issue and need replacing - which is what I want to do. SO, what 12" PA speakers would be a suitable replacement for the existing set up? - I'm kind of hazy on the cabinet spec as everywhere seems to give conflicting comments, however, when purchased some 20 years ago from ProMusic technology, they were told to me as 150W speakers, 12", cab has a rectangle slot horn at the top, carpet covered, front blueish flash Eurosys 3.0 at the top with the red triangle flash across the bottom - I don't think there is any issue with the amp or even the (custom when purchased) long speaker leads, as the set up with mics and leads was identical when plugged into the other "non matched" speakers and the quality just jumped up a mile. II don't mind saying I know nothing its not my area so any guidance much appreciated. Thanks. |

Note -
I am talking about replacing the speakers within the cabinets only.

Mainly Mics for (singing) voices and acoustic guitar, occasionally pre recorded music, occasionally a keyboard; or even mic'd up brass etc, never bass guitar.

so open mic kind of stuff?
? band ... music ... singing .... announcing .... amping up acoustic instruments.... I use AT2020 condenser mic as often as possible but can be other non condenser mic too. I don't really know what you are asking, not sure what difference which side of the curtain the user comes from?
