They couldn't make it anymore obvious could they? They might as well be sending subliminal messages through the screen telling us to keep them in. There's a good reason he's never been in the final before, and that's his appalling Latin. The only reason I can think of is that he won't be back next year. Fingers crossed.

Not a big fan of him but I want him in the finals as well . 13 series and no finals ? This is his best opportunity in yearssssss and I hope he makes it there.

Katie has VERY good dances this week and judging by the training tonight on ITT will do well with the charleston (not that I doubted it anyways) . They have a VERY good chance of making it to week 13 and I hope that they do .

I'm not attacking Katie, but Anton is obnoxious. That's just my opinion though.

It's not about the pro, it's about the celeb! They can only dance the choreography their pro gives them and in Katie's bad weeks, it was sometimes down to Anton's dodgy choreography, and they got quite a bit of undeserved criticism from the panel on some of the Latin dances and heavily penalised for what have been relatively minor mistakes.

Of the final 5, Katie deserves to go through Anita is the weakest dancer in terms of technique, and Kellie has some popularity issues so it's more a case of what the judges say in comments and marks given. If they go for Anita, she will get a popularity vote, so any of the others could drop down to the dance off

Because he's never been there before and, well, he hasn't got much longer left, bless him.

Is this because of their ITT interview? I thought they both came across as sweet, genuinely (and in an honest way) excited about the prospect of getting into the final, but not desperate about it. I hope they get there but sad that someone else won't as the remaining celebs all have something to offer in a final.

I too find him obnoxious and don't believe he is entitled to a place in the final just because he hasn't been there before.

"He" (or more accurately they) is not "entitled to a place in the final just because etc..'
They will be entitled to a place in the final if the combination of judges scores and the public vote puts them there, just like every other couple.

If all they'd done was a collection of duff dances they wouldn't have a sniff of the final.They've had a few bad dances- every couple left has. They are not technically the worst left and seem not to be unpopular.

These are the shows criteria,it was just as true last year that Anton had never reached the final, last year his and his partner's dancing didn't merit getting anywhere near.

The thrust of your and the OPs comment is "Anton doesn't deserve to get to the final because I don't like him."

I may not like a few of the other couples but that is totally irrelevant. Whoever gets to the final deserves to get there.

Are Brendan and Anton the only pros left who have been in it since the beginning? I think for a huge part of the audience, Brendan and Anton are more famous than the celebs.

I am very fond of Anton and get occasionally annoyed by him, inconsistently, but he is a fantastic ballroom dancer, and their showdance could be glorious. I think with the music they've got, they will get to the final, and I'm fine about that (as long as it isn't Jay who doesn't get to the final when I'm not going to be fine about anything for some time). It's a great last 5 and it's very rough on whoever doesn't get through.

I keep reading chatter alluding to this being his final year, is this just conjecture or is it based on anything concrete?

He's not a favourite of mine to put it mildly (he really disgraced himself when partnering the lovely Laila Rouass) but like it or not, he a big part of the show so I can see that making it to the final would be a fitting end to his Strictly story.

He's quoted as saying recently that he wants to stay as long as possible.

Theirs is the only show dance I'm interested in seeing, it will be wonderful to see a ballroom show dance. It will make a nice change from the usual Latin, modern dances just full of lifts.
