Me too. I have always had a soft spot for Anton and would love him to get the final. I haven't voted for them every week, but more than anyone else left - pro or celeb - I really hope Anton gets to the final.

I originally split my vote between K&A and Jeremy - after he went I have given one or two votes to Georgia, but most have gone to Katie. I'm desperate to see her - and Anton, of course - in the final.
It's just gotta happen!
He's been consistently good , with just a couple of less good routines , but not really stood out too much . He's been lucky to have quite a good partner and things have mostly gone well for them as a rule. If he dances two good dances this week then he is just as entitled to a finals place as any of the others , simple as that really . He has lots of support so who knows what will happen .

They have to sacrifice a better dancer for them to get to the final! My only obvious choice is Kellie - she doesn't seem to be as popular as Katie for some reason so that will be intresting. Butfor Kellie to get out she should be against someone better and this is not Anita nor Katie, and I really hope not Georgia Nor Jay are in the DO. Tricky.

I don't have a huge favourite (other than having something of a soft spot for the performance element in Anita/Glebs better performances).
There are only 4 final spots though, and I'd give them to couples that have impressed me over the series. IMHO, Jay and Georgia have a firm claim.
I'd like to see Anita there based on performance, but concede that its arguable on technical merit.
Helen would have too, if she had made it to the semi's. That didn't happen though, which leaves a spot up for grabs.
For me Kellie deserves that more. I guess it comes down to personal taste but I haven't been wowed in either a technical or performance sense by Katie and Antons dances.

Given how clever and witty they are supposed to be according to DS fans, once again on ITT I saw only a couple who come across as giggly and a bit inane. I feel Katie is hiding a fantastic and interesting persona - we know from her work that she is both these things - but on ITT she comes across as simpering, face-pulling and a bit silly. I don't understand why she is like this on Strictly
To make Strictly fill two weekend slots and five weekday shows, just from a bunch of 90 second dance routines, the producers need to create characters and stories. The Anton story isn't there to "get Anton to the final". It's about creating stories and characters that can fill the air time with entertainment. If Aljaz was still in there would be the story of "race to win a second glitterball" with Aliona.

I couldn't understand most of their time on ITT tonight for the points you made and because it was as if every time Katie started talking Anton had to say something or make a noise or pull a face which would draw the attention from his partner.

You're right, they've all got stories, true or not, attached to them. Thing is I wouldn't mind Katie and Antons story so much if it were about her but she doesn't feature at all in it, apart from being a half decent dancer and it seems a bit unfair that it's all about him.
Still, I don't suppose that they mind how they get their votes and if half the voters are voting out of loyalty and sympathy for Anton, then like fancying the celeb or pro, the celeb having no dance experience, liking their partnership, so be it. It's a good as reason as any.

Oh thank you - I'm glad I'm not the only one! Think of most couples who have been on ITT - Helen, Georgia, Anita..Even if they aren't your favourites you do get to hear them discuss the dance, usually how hard they are finding it and so on. There's none of that with Katie and Anton. There's no real content. Apart from Katie talking about her daughter's contribution (if that had been Peter Andre he'd have been slaughtered by DS posters of course)..there was nothing there. It's so frustrating.

BIB Katie certainly has been overshadowed by the whole 'Get Anton to the final' campaign, which is a shame as she is a decent dancer who deserves more of the spotlight in their couple rather than seemingly playing second fiddle to Anton.
That's partly why I can't warm to them or their dances it's too much about Anton. With the other pro's they make sure that their celeb partner is the star (well except Gleb and his moments in the sun each dance) and the focus is on them and they allow them to talk - which I imagine is difficult for Kevin really as Kellie never seems to shut up so don't think he has much choice!!

BIB yep them foreign boys (Aljaz, Gio + Gleb) let their ladies talk where as the gentleman Brit goes on and on and on and barely lets Katie get to the end of a sentence.
One bit tonight when Zoe asked Katie if her daughter was proud and Katie was kind of answering it but then Anton jumped in with some inane babble. So frustrating as I want to hear Katie's view on her experience not Anton go on about how he thought the show finished after Blackpool for the umpteenth time.

Inane babble is good word for it. I don't mind him and he can be entertaining but Anton takes nothing seriously, he speaks in catchphrases, and all that 'didn't know we danced in November/December/Blackpool' schtick on a loop get's a bit tiring after a while. But that's me. I'm sure many love it.
I wonder how Katie really feels. She seems a lovely woman and I'm sure likes him but I'd love to know how she's really doing without Captain Smug interrupting every time.
Stupid sentimentality, that's why, and I'm guilty of it as well. I sort of want Anton and Katie to get there but only if their ability warrants it and not at the expense of better dancers.
Having said that with Helen gone Katie is probably one of the best four technical dancers left anyway, Anita, my other favourite, being more style than substance. If people vote in droves to get Anton and Katie into the final it won't be a travesty although it might be if they win the thing against better dancers.

But 'stories' 'journeys' families personalities and Performance all play a huge part.

The launch show included the pink shirt 'never got to wear it' joke and Helen's "thought I'd get Anton" joke.
Show one showed him go balls out to the haters that he can jive, having been called out on that dance since Laila.
He has then had the ups and downs of tango,VW, AS, rumba versus cha cha,salsa, paso, QS.
Craig saying he had to up his game but also saying good he has been allowed to dance this series.

Their dancing interests me far more than the other 3 couples - who are excellent in their own way - but it's Katie and Anita I look forward to seeing dance every Saturday night.
