Why do they want Anton in the final?

I thought they came across really badly on last nights ITT. Katie is over confident. They both came across as too cocky and Katie's face pulling is driving me insane. Anton is incapable of holding a decent conversation. Everything he says is a joke, a cliche, or just trite rubbish. I really wish he'd stop with this dancing in December rubbish. He's now danced in December FOUR times.

I don't agree that Katie is hiding a fantastic and interesting persona. She's incredibly fake. Not sure what work you're talking about that gave you that impression. She proved last night she is incredibly ignorant when she said "O Mio Babbino Caro" was from "La Boheme." I was under the impression she actually had some knowledge of classical music given her day job. Seems like I was wrong.

Genuine question. Has Anton ever scored a 10

I can't seem to remember it. If yes, was it in his 1st season or with Laila Rouass

I really think that he'll score a few 10s with Katie this weekend

No - his highest score with both of them was 34 (2 x8, 2x9).

Yes, that's definitely the next stage of the 'Anton journey' narrative they've got going! In fairness, if Katie eliminates her slightly lazy footwork that sometimes pops up, causes mistakes and spoils near faultless ballroom routines, there's no reason why a Katie and Anton waltz to that music won't justify at least one or two 10's. Most probably one - from Darcey, who's always been more sympathetic to less than complete perfection and allowing 10's anyway!

They will be entitled to a place in the final if the combination of judges scores and the public vote puts them there, just like every other couple.

I think it's matter of fact.

The show has always been based on a combination of judges marks and viewers votes, and anyone getting to the final deserves to be there because they have achieved sufficient of both to overcome the other competitors.

Your second comment sort of proves the point, as your personal opinion of Anton overrides any consideration for Katie and her dancing. After all it is the celeb that should be judged and voted for, not the pro.

Yes, the focus is completely on him, she doesn't have any storyline herself. But Anton is unfortunately one of those people that will always hog the attention themselves, in any situation that involves other people.

When George Clooney was on the Graham Norton show, he was a bit like that and always interrupting the other guests' interviews to tell yet another one of his "charming" stories about himself. I imagine the George/Amal marriage works well because they're both workaholics and rarely see each other.

i was a fan of Katie's as I think she did the best Cha Cha Cha of any celeb but then Anton floated off some where and left her with no more choreography. He was useless in the Jive too while she put her all into it. So he let her down and didnt deserve to get as far as they did. Now she is falling behind the others, so I hope she goes. Anton is lucky to be in the semi final IMO
